Enjoyed a meal for two last evening; excellent food (subtle flavours, perfect nan), pleasant ambiance(discrete, non-intrusive sitar), friendly welcome and service from manager and serving staff. Recommended ... just a few moments walk from the Odeon.
This is definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in the whole of London. I love it,my husband loves, even our friends (after heavy debates about the "Best Indian in London" and being dragged ...albeit willingly... to Ahmed) Love it!
The food is great, the service is friendly, timeous, personal and professional and the prices are great too.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and strongly disagree with negative critics - I have high food and service standards and Ahmed exceed.
Enjoy!
I suspect the anonymous ones might be a competitor. It's not the world's greatest restaurant, but as curry houses go it's certainly one of the better ones.
We have been going to Ahmeds for years. The restaurant serves fabulous food. We travelled for 3 months around the US and Canada sampling various Indian cuisines and Ahmeds was rated top. The food is fairly priced and the staff are attentive and very courteous. I thoroughly disagree with the negative reviewr!!!!
I have lived in London for nine months and frequent Ahmed Tandoori. I totall disagree with previous review. The food here is ecellent. The Baltic chicken tikka masala is totally gorgeous and their special lamb dishes are second to none. The service is exceptional bordering on silver service.
The staff are very professional and attentive. I have brought my Aussie and Kiwi friends here and they love it too. We have gone to Brick Lane restaurants thinking we may have been missing out on something, but always return to Ahmed Tandoori for a consistently great meal.
Not hugely impressed by Ahmed Tandoori to be honest. The food's fairly bog-standard and there's nothing about Ahmed Tandoori that stands out for me.
Okay if you're stuck for some food, but don't make a special trip.
I've done some building works in this restaurant and I would never ever eat anything there! I was too scared to go to the kitchen because of mice and rats (I'm just afraid of the diseases, in the past I've been bitten by the rat). There were cockroaches everywhere... walking on the meat and vegetables left on the floor...disaster! Don't eat at Ahmed Tandoori!
