Al Forno was amazing! My boyfriend and I decided to try it after passing it many times, and were pleasantly surprised. Seeing as how it is nestled on the end of a small row of shops, with no pubs around it or pavement for passing trade, we expected it to be dead - even not open - on a Sunday night...The restaurant was at least half full, with a great atmosphere.
We were surprised at the reasonable prices (£50 for two of us, with starters, mains, wine, extra bread/olives/bruschetta, coffee and liquer coffee) as well as the quality of the food - the mussels are DIVINE!
The place was playing old rat pack classics, which went down very well with us and the other couples in the restaurant. The waiters are charmingly authentic Italian without being 'inna ya faca' a la cornetto adverts!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone - couples, families, singles. Perhaps the one drawback, is that there aren't any pubs close by to go to afterwards!
