Really expensive - not impressed. We ended up paying £52 for half an hour's bowling which is much more than other places. You only get one game, however quickly it ends, not even a few extra bowls to fill the hour slot while it sits empty.

Service at the bar was terrible, grumpy staff, and, again, really expensive - cocktails were poor and small bottles of beer for £3.80 is ridiculous. They seem to think it's fine to charge a bomb for rubbish drinks just because you also want to do something while you're there - it's not a strip club.

We felt completely ripped off and went somewhere else for dinner (which looked very average) to get us in a better mood.

Great bowling, fantastic food and very friendly service.
We had a big group booking and the staff made what could have been an organizational nightmare very easy.
The American diner-esque food was delicious too, served by the most charming waitresses, one of whom laid down a bowling challenge for the next visit, and there will definitely be a next visit!

Had a brilliant time at a work do there. Staff were attentive and relaxed. Food was delicious with good sized portions (and that was just on the bowl, drink and dine menu). Cocktails and bar service was excellent with a good choice of American beers (not a bud in sight!).

Decor is great, the bar being surprisingly swanky like a classy 70s nightclub: comfy leather corner sofas and disco balls, so would be great for just a drink without the bowling. The very friendly and efficient staff took away all the effort of organising our large group allowing us to get stuck into the bowling!

Thanks for a great night!

A really great experience. Easy to book, informative staff on the phone. Fantastic service for drinks and food whilst bowling, really helpful and friendly staff at the venue. Enjoyed it so much on a hen do I took all my friends a few weeks later who also loved it. Will definitely be back.

Great food, amazing US diner style burgers especially. The bowling alley is small and friendly and the bar and seating areas are comfortable with mood lighting and ace cocktails. We went on a work night out with bowling, dinner and drinks and it was perfect for that. We wished we could have had another game of bowling though!

I threw a surprise birthday party at All Star in Holborn and everyone had tons of fun. The venue is in a central location and the service in the bar, diner and reception was great. The food there was surprisingly amazing! You wouldn't think so for a bowling alley but I now know that is where I am going anytime I crave classic American food. It's probably the best cheeseburger and fries I've had in London so far!! And really good mac n'cheese. I'm definitely going again for food and bowling.

Awesome venue for a group night out! Organised a hen do here - staff were really obliging (even when we had a few latecomers). Bowling was great and the house shots were really tasty!

Went here for my birthday with 9 other friends. We had dinner in the diner before and then had an hour's bowling time. Food in the diner was good value for money...the baby back ribs are the best on the menu...delicious! Cocktails are tasty and service is attentive and friendly.

As it was my partner and I's birthdays, on arrival in the diner, the venue gave us both birthday cards with vouchers inside for one free cocktail each, which was a great treat.

Bowling was superb fun, good way to mix with friends and bring out some competitive streaks in some!

After the bowling we headed to the bar area for some drinks, nice bar with late licence, good music and bar service was efficient.

Highly recommend a night out with a group of you in All Star Lanes, great fun and good value!

This is a hidden gem just off Bloomsbury Sq, hidden away down some stairs. I organised my friend's hen do here and the general consensus was that it was an excellent place.

We ate first, the food was good American diner type grub. Starters were lovely and mains were generous portions and tasty. The waitress was fast and efficient but a smile wouldn't have gone amiss ;)

Then on to bowling. In the main section there are only 4 lanes which makes for a good atmosphere. It's a shame you can only book one game but as we weren't in any hurry to move on, once we'd bowled our first game and were eager for more, we booked a lane for midnight which gave us some time to chill out in the lovely bar area.

The bar is tucked away around the corner from the diner. Almost too well hidden! It's a cool place though. Great seating area and it was surprisingly unbusy. The bar staff were friendly but needed guidance from the instruction book to make the Zombie for the Hen! There was a DJ playing some funky house (maybe?) but took requests for us to have a boogie to.

Before we knew it, we were being told that we could go on to the bowling lane early but if we wanted to stay in the bar for a bit we could. So we did! It was nice to have the option and not be pressured to take it.

I didn't really notice the music the first time we were bowling but second time around there were some good tunes that added to the fun atmosphere.

Table service for alcohol while bowling was excellent and the server was really friendly and helpful.

I would thoroughly recommend All Star Lanes to any of my friends and will probably return with the happy couple after the wedding. Apparently the groom wasn't happy as we'd stolen his perfect stag night! Time to make amends.

It's not the cheapest place but for entertainment value it's worth every penny.

HAVE A GREAT TIME!

We went for our work team night out - had such a fantastic time, everyone was so friendly, the bowling was loads of fun, the food was fab, cocktails were amazing and the surroundings were really nice. So much better than the Bloomsbury Bowl next door which seems to have got so shabby lately.

We organised ten-pin bowling followed by a meal for a work function on 27 April 2010. Participants included some new starters at work and some I hardly knew yet.

Everyone had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We started with ten-pin bowling and we quickly got to know each other outside of work environment. Bowling was great fun, one game was not enough so we arranged an additional half-game. Even though I was by far the weakest player, I will always remember my single full strike! The cosy atmosphere was conducive to team building and good conversations. The food was excellent with a fast and efficient service. Altogether an excellent venue to be friends, family or work colleagues. Definitely 5 out 5 stars! - Rajan

Fantastic Venue, fantastic service extremely professional and made our private event run so smoothly. I can recommend this place enough, there are venues in London who think they are of this calibre, but All Star lanes does it all and without trying. They organised me and my friends and nothing was too much trouble for them. Lucas the manager was friendly and so easy going, Pedro the bar man chilled with a great mix of cocktails, Stacey fast at adding the ever changing names on the lists due to our party being abut 25 people- and Rachel our organiser who was meticulous with every detail making the evening a joy. Totally book the private room!! It's well worth it!!

Really great place to meet up with friends. Especially if you've grown tired of the London nightlife routine of either pub or big nightclub cycle then definitely head here to break the monotony. Come for the really tasty American menu treats and stay for the fun games of bowling and pocket-friendly great cocktails.

Popped in last week for a couple after work drinks and ended staying all night! The pink-loving receptionist kindly offered us a game of bowling on their walk in lanes (we jumped at the opportunity).

We enjoyed top-notch cocktails and bar nibbles before skipping down to the lanes for a round of no-holds-barred bowlings. Too much fun! Can't wait to tell the whole office about this place!

Great for a fun night out bowling but don't bother eating here. Staff and kitchen constantly made mistakes and not once apologised. Food is pricey and so are the spirits. Come here for a fun night but eat somewhere else.

The bowling and drinks were excellent. I am sorry to say staff attitude was not.

The main issue was a combination of under-trained staff and an enthusiastic bouncer.

Our two main issues were the staff who did not know whether they did food to the lanes or not, and supervisors who 'told us off' for asking them to check, explaining that no bowling alley allows food to the lane. I'm an experienced 'social' bowler (I go at least once a month) and that just isn't the case, either in kiddie places or the trendy 'Bloomsbury' venues.

The drinks were nice and the bowling experience great but when it came to be time to pay, the computer was being slow. Fine, but without checking with the checkout staff, the bouncer assumed there was an issue and loomed over our 5 foot nothing female party leader until the payment went through. We are a bunch of 20 something professionals and definitely not the type of party to do a runner.

To be honest, the staff here need to look around at other local bowling places and check what they offer. They are not unique enough or high end enough to get heavy handed like this.

I went there to All Star Lanes with my boyfriend on one of the biggest hangovers ever. However, I loved the beer and I loved the uniforms the staff wore.

Even though we had to wait for a lane for over an hour (twice) I absolutely loved it. My birthday is coming up soon and All Star Lanes is one place I'm definitely taking all my friends!

I went with my boyfriend to All Star Lanes on New Years eve expecting a fun but quiet night. However with the fun atmoshere and fantastic cocktails we ended up staying untill about 2am. The food was great and the All Star Lanes staff were quite possibly the friendliest I have come across, especially whilst working on New Years Eve!

I went to All Star Lanes with a few friends last week. What a cool place. The staff were brilliant and they don't take themselves too seriously. The whole atmosphere of All Star Lanes was just right. I loved the design too. Bowling is now officially a tendy sport.

I went to All Star Lanes last week and am so impressed by it all that I have to tell everyone. The food was so good which isn't normally the case when bowling. They really have made bowling trendy.

I think this is just what London needed - a Friday night with a difference. I really cannot recommend it more highly.

Thought All Star Lanes was an interesting concept, but in reality it's just for up market young things who are rather pleased with themselves.

A group of us spent my boyfriend's 30th birthday at All Star Lanes. We had a long wait for a lane but were very happy with the wine (although a limited range) and the cocktails (expensive but fabulous). We ended up losing our spot for a lane - apparently we were buzzed three times but of the five of us no one saw/heard the buzzer move at all, reception said they couldn't find us in the bar despite us being in the same spot all night, so I think that system needs some refining!

The bar staff were fabulous though - friendly and very talented at making cocktails. All Star Lane has a great atmosphere and comfy couches and separate menus for the bar and restaurant which was a plus...

I would give All Star Lanes a 5, but I can't remember it that much. I do remember getting a strike and them running around telling everyone I loved them. That may have had something to do with the 2 hour wait at the bar before we got a lane though. I didn't even remember the guy being thrown out for chundering or the cool guy coming in straight after and falling over in it. At least everyone had the presence of mind to return their shoes afterwards - even if it wasn't until we got to Chicken Cottage that they realised they still had the bowling shoes on. Great night at All Star Lanes!

All Star Lanes is sooooo cool, drinking cocktails whilst bowling has made me look at bowling in a whole new light. Unfortunately All Star Lanes do make you wear the hideous bowling shows but I’m working on them, high heels here we come!
