Recently, visited this restaurant and I found it a bit of a disappointment considering the reviews.

Our initial impressions were approving, considering what we had read and I have to admit the restaurant had good ambience.

We went middle of the week for dinner, and the place was packed. So I bet it is very popular.

Unfortunately, I personally found the food was not all that authentic. Having often travelled to Thailand, I can vouch for that.

It seemed that the spices and the salt had been reduced to cater to the British palate. And that was their Waterloo.Prices were excellent.

The Ginger and Lemongrass drink was very interesting. But the Tom Yum soup seemed bland and the curries lacked a punch.

I like authenticity so I won’t be visiting there again. Though I guess, judging by the popularity of the place, it's a big hit with those with mild tastes.

Amaranth is an absolutely fantastic Thai place right by Earlsfield's Train Station. The food is amazing and it's a BYO so it's great value. Highly recommend it, make sure you make a reservation though as it's very popular. Enjoy!
