Tried to buy a bespoke birthday cake for 40 people and spoke to what seemed like either the owner or one of the pastry chefs. He was unhelpful and did not have a cake catalogue, referring instead to their website (and their tiny pictures).



Ultimately told him his body language was making me uncomfortable. I felt I was being hurried to make up my mind. I never experienced that kind of pressure to know exactly what I want.

Good for a special treat, but Amato should be avoided by anyone watching their figures –one look at the heavenly cakes and you’ll feel a stone heavier. Amato also have a takeaway service.
