I have just eaten a very underwhelming curry from the amber fort. the Papri Chat starter with tasty with a crispy base, balanced flavours throughout. The raitha was fizzy with great texture.
However that was the end of the good parts. The Naga lamb was very disappointing. The flavour of the chili's did certainly add a certain spice to the dish. Unfortunately the dish was 90 percent sauce with very little meat. The gravy itself was very thin and lacked any real depth. The chick peas did not retain any structure and had very few ingredients to give it any real flavour. It looked as though someone had emptied a can without draining the brine very well and just sprinkled some spices over it. The paneer and peas dish was all so disappointing. Whilst the paneer chunks were well sized and evenly fried the accompanying source was so light it made little impact on the flavour.
with such competition in the area I would have hoped for more and as such there is no reason for me to order from the amber fort again.

What a lovely find! it is like being in the West End of London the decor is that good! The staff greet you with a big smile and the atmosphere is warm and cosy...as for the food..well it is definitely the BEST indian restaurant in London! mmmm delicious..we got offfered a free drink on the house at the end of our meal ( i had an irish coffee ) the prices are very reasonable especially for the drinks! will be back often for sure! 10 out of 10
