After waking up feeling ill for the third day in a row on a bank holiday, I decided to take some positive action - namely by eating some super spicy food to see if that would kick me back into action. Fat chance, as after this enormous lunch, I just passed out cold with a belly the size of a whale. This was my first time in this restaurant. First impressions great as the chutneys were obviously home made: coriander lear; mango with onion seeds and a spicy peanut and onion chutney. We shared a mixed grill starter which consisted of a mixture of chicken, fish and prawns cooked in a variety of different spices with vegatable pakora on the side. The main courses were tasty, well seasoned and well spiced although the lamb could have done with long slow cooking so if I went there again, I'd choose chicken or prawns as a main. The mixed veg side dish was delicious. Great place to eat, fantastic value and I'd go again like a shot. Service great and it was the little touches that really made it. The thing that most impressed me which you rarely get every in an Indian restaurant was the lack of grease which is what usually puts me off going to an Indian restaurant. The food was fresh and amazingly healthy for an Indian. Top marks (apart from the lamb being a bit tough). Bring your own booze but with the huge meal the two of us had, the bill only came to £29. Bonus!
