What is this???A pub meal posing as fine dining???The food was cold, the service was atrocious (we were charged for wine we didn't even order or consume & then had to 'convince' them of this. When they realised their error, there wasn't even an apology!!) and the atmosphere was the worst part - yes, worse than cold food...No napery, BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT lights - felt like we were in a meatworks warehouse and what is with the tables? They look like McDonalds tables...Don't come here unless they have a big sign out the front advertising free food and drinks... and then just go in for the drinks.Abysmal that they have the hide to call themselves a restaurant.Don't come here.

Very disappointing - a bistro at best.
Food leaves much to be desired and the prices are quite steep even despite this.
Atmosphere is certainly lacking. Do not think this is a romantic destination - you will be very disappointed.

Had an absolutely perfect lunch here. Phoned at very short notice yet they were happy to fit us in.

The food was excellent as was the atmosphere and staff, who were knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Our orders arrived quickly and were beautifully presented and tasted fabulous.

And the bill? A little over £120 for 3 courses plus wine for 2 diners I thought was good value considering the all round quality.

I will certainly be dining here again next time I'm in the capital with a couple of hours to kill and a rumbling stomach!

I chose this restaurant after reading a review in the "View". It's only a few minutes walk from Tottenham Court station and located in the heart of Soho.

The wait staff are excellent, as is the food. We didn't have reservations and were seated at the bar until a table became free, and that only took a few minutes.

You can eat at the bar, and places are set already in preparation. I would recommend reservations, and they are held up to 20 minutes for late arrivals.

The tables in the dining room are just a little bit closer together than I would prefer, meaning your neighbors could quite easily listen in on your conversations if they chose.

The food is primarily french-style cuisine, and presented on-time and perfectly decorated. Portions are perfect, larger than one would expect. It appears the menu is printed every day with notations for the specials of the day.

We didn't try dessert, because we were quite full after drinks, starters and the main course. I suspect the desserts would have been delicious.

My one criticism is the prices are a tad bit high. Cocktails are around 8-9 pounds, Starters are in the same range. Wine bottles are available in the mid 30's and a carafe for about 15 (1/3 of a bottle).

The wine list is not too extensive but seems to have an ample variety of quality wines. Main courses are priced averaging 20.

We really enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend it, we just will not eat there very often since our meal of a cocktail, bottle of wine , shared starter and main courses for two exceeded 100 pounds.

Arbutus is fabulous and chic restuarant with a great selection of wines and very good food at reasonable prices. The staff are attentive and the place has a great atmosphere.
