As Manager of Ark Fish Restaurant, I would like to respond to some of your comments as you do our customers an injustice. It would appear that you visit us quite often as you state 'generally'.

If our restaurant is as you so scathingly describe, one would assume you would not have visited more than once!You are quite right in stating that 'kids' are welcome during lunch and dinner as we are regarded as a family restaurant, although not many children are present after 8pm.

We do not provide a 'play area' next to the bar or anywhere else in the restaurant. We do, however, keep a box of toys to keep younger children amused at their tables.

Although naturally some younger children can find it difficult to be as contained as adults, we most certainly do not allow them to 'run around uncontrolled', as this is a Health and Safety issue, as well as disconcerting for ALL in the restaurant.

If we consider any child is impacting on the safety or enjoyment of other customers, then we deem it our duty to speak to their parents accordingly. Many of our customers are regulars, families, couples and otherwise who enjoy the high level of quality food and service we provide.

We in turn enjoy a diverse clientele who are prepared to wait for a table as we do not take bookings and who are most certainly not rushed out afterwards. Finally, there is amply parking with a private car park right next to the restaurant, single yellow line parking right outside and unrestricted parking in the residential streets opposite.

Does this reviewer have some sort of grudge or could it possibly be a competitor who is jealous of The Ark's success?
