Aubaine is a dreadful place. With overpriced, indifferent fare, and they had the cheek to add service on top. So a cappucino and a miniscule tart tattin came to £8.50! I felt insulted and told the owner so. He was quite rude back, saying, Well, if you can't afford it... I wouldn't ever go back. I urge you all not to go to Aubaine.

I visited Aubaine for lunch today and ordered a medium steak. My understanding of medium is well cooked on the outside and pink in the middle, but not raw. When I cut into it, blood oozed out and it was completely raw inside. So I sent it back. When it was returned 5 minutes later it was still raw inside. So I sent it back again, and the same steak was returned, in the two pieces, completely charred on the outside, and finally just pink on the inside. Now it was as dry as a bone, tasteless and ugly from being cooked in this manner.

I ate a bit and asked for the bill. The waitress asked me what it was like and I said it was awful. She just looked at me. The bill arrived with service added, and no apologies offered.

This is appalling from a restaurant charging these prices. I won’t be going back to Aubaine and I recommend you don’t waste your money on these charlatans.

Aubaine is one of those restaurants where you just can't understand the hype. Aubaine isn't bad but in my opinion it's not great either, and that's just as disappointing.

They do nice food in Aubaine but you don't get much for your money. I'm not sure I'd head back to Aubaine, think I prefer cheap and cheerful places where you get plenty to eat!
