TRIED TO RIP US OFF! My boyfriend and I had dinner and drinks at Barraco last week. When our bill came it had £25 extra added to it for the food and drinks alone, bringing what should have been a bill for around £60 in total inc service charge to around £85. The handwritten bill itself was mostly indecipherable. The items that we could make out had mostly been charged at more than the menu price, and some charges did not have any explanation. After complaining to the waitress and manager, a new bill was immediately presented for the correct amount, with the waitress attempting to fob us off by claiming that she had given us someone else's bill. When my boyfriend paid the correct bill he specifically said he would not be paying service charge, but the waitress added it to the transaction anyway and we had to demand that it be refunded. On leaving the restaurant, the manager did not defend himself against our complaint of being ripped off, and instead offered us a better deal on our next visit (which will not be happening!).
This little place has been my favourite to take very different crowds - Customers, group of friends or an intimate close friend, and they have all loved it!
You must try my favourite combination: "Chopao & Caipirinha" - A pint of beer and the Brazilian spirit based drink - the beer glass is kept in the freezer so you get a really cold beer.
Great variety of food and relaxed and highly enjoyable atmosphere.
Barraco is the real Brazilian place, amazing food, fresh meat, Some people go to restaurants expectiong good food and good treatment, the stuff is no 100% polite, white guy with beard looks angry all the time. We were 4 people in total, all of us had same opnion, although the owner came to our table to give a great welcome ,at least he is polite. If you are looking for the real Brazilian food Barraco is the number 1 in London , better than others Churrascarias in West end were you would spend at least £40 per a meal and get nothing. But do not expect too much from stuffs, if the food is good I dont mind the service!
Barraco was my first experience of Brazilian cuisine and I was quite impressed.
The breaded cheese balls were very moreish!
