Pros: Service was quick. Cons: despite saying on the information boards that they use minimal salt to season the food, I found both the pork and beef burrito's were overly salty. And the flour tortila wraps seem like the standard stuff you get at the supermarkets.

I've tried a few Mexican places around the west end and i can confidently say Benitos Hat has consistently served me the best burritos. They definitely blow Wahaca out of the water. The pork burritos are particularly scrumptious.

After years as a burrito wilderness, London has suddenly woken up to Mexican food in a big way. It seems that every time you wonder round Soho or Covent Garden, there is a new burrito joint, vying with the traditional Prets of this world for lunchtime business. I've made it my mission to try as many of these as possible in my quest for the perfect burrito. And I have to say, Benito's Hat comes pretty close.

The menu is broken down into four sections, and allows you to choose between burritos and tacos, then the type of meat (or veggie) filling, then various other fillings such as rice and refried beans, and finally toppings such as guacamole and three types of salsa, ranging from mild to very spicy. The burritos are freshly made, and very authentic.

I came at lunchtime, but this branch has more of an evening feel to it - there were lots of Mexican beers and cocktails, which would definitely be worth a try.

Only wish we had more options like Benito's Hat in the SW postcodes!!

Went there a couple of days ago after hearing about the Goodge Street original. I was not disappointed. I went for the pork burrito with black beans and salsa bravo - very nice indeed. Really hit the spot. We also stayed for a couple of margaritas begfore heading off into the Covent Garden night. A great place to get a quick and fun mexican fix - and VERY cheap!
