We came across Bistro 1 as we were wandering round Soho after visiting the Spanish Festival in Regent Street, It looked perfect for our lunch.
It had enough people in there for us to think that it was good but not too crowded.
We were amazed at the price of lunch, how rare to find good food... nay excellent food at such a reasonable nay... cheap price !!
The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious.
Lucky for us to arrive when we did as soon after the restaurant was full.
We sat by the window as it was such a lovely day, and we will certainly go back here on our next visit to London. Thank you Bistro 1.
Julie, Oxford

We have ate here 3 times and the food is great, we live in Durham and next week we are going to london up and down in the day and will be returning. So if we are prepared to travel over 300 miles to eat here that must show how good it is, very friendly staffregards Mr S

had beouf bourgignon here on monday evening, and was
shocked to discover that its main ingredient was 3 or 4 pork cocktail
sausages.................... YUK ! i sent an email to 1 bistro head-office, to inquire as to why their recipe for beouf bourgignon is so different to EVERY one that i checked-out , and even included a copy of a standard recipe, but didn't even get an acknowledgement.
i know that for the price that they charge, one can't expect cordon bleu standard, but this is ridiculous . i won't be eating there again.

Extremely good value. The staff are welcoming, cheerful and very well presented, the service is something that you would hope for in a much more expensive establishment.

The food is really good and fresh with generous portions. They have other branches including one near Covent Garden.

Had a quick bite here before a West End musical one night and the staff were very accommodating with our tight schedule.

The food was amazing and we ended up returning again a few weeks later to take our time to enjoy the excellent menu and friendly service.

After the first two experiences with partner I thought this might also be a good place to drop by with a couple of mates but for some reason we weren't welcomed with the same enthusiasm as previously, although we would have spent twice as much - go figure!

Read some of the reviews and decided to give Bistro 1 a go. I'm glad that I did. Food was excellent, service was great and the price was even better. I would say that this is a little gem and one of the best eating experiences I have had in a long while!

Bistro 1 was an absolute delight. The service is friendly, and the food was excellent and quick. The restaurant is slightly cramped, however this gave it a homely atmosphere. You should definitely give Bistro 1 a try.

Bistro 1, Beak Street is my favourite place to eat when in London. The food is excellent, I have eaten almost everything on the menu and never been disappointed! I have taken many friends and family there, who in turn have taken their friends.

The service at Bistro 1 is great, nothing is too much trouble, and the staff make old and new customers equally welcome. I discovered this fantastic place about 5 years ago, what a find!

Bistro 1 is a smashing little place! We had the £9.90 3 course option with wine and the bill was still under £35. There was also plenty of choice on the menu, a good atmosphere and they're open late into the night.

I am a huge fan of Bistro 1, both this one and its twin sister just off the Strand. You wouldn't believe that you could get such high quality food so conveniently located in London. The food is not Ritz dining but it's still excellent. It's more the kind of food you'd eat at the home of a friend who is a good cook which is exactly what I expect from something that calls itself a bistro. I particularly recommend their deep-fried brie.
In fact, the whole Bistro 1 experience is rather like somebody looked up the definition of 'bistro' in a dictionary and produced something to match: small tables crowded together, friendly and noisy which makes it a great place for an impromptu meal, since the prices are low enough to eat there regularly, as indeed I do! They are beginning to recognise me when I go there now.

Nice atmosphere, a real find in Soho, set price menus for less than £10; the sea bream served on mash with a cream sauce and smoked salmon was a tasty supper, house white very drinkable, good service considering every table was filled with contented punters, keep it up!

I went to Bistro 1 a couple of weeks ago with 3 friends. We had fantastic meal - really tasty, simple meals at bargain prices! I couldn't recommend it more - in fact I'm going there again tonight with another friend!

The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed and the service is good. Go - you won't be disappointed!
