For all those people who write bad things about Bistro Benito I want to them then down by telling the whole world that Bistro Benito is the warmest place to sit and eat, and chat to the friendly owner. The food is excellent and the dessert trolley is great too.


I worked for them myself for a year and a half and had the best time of my life. It has been a family run restaurant for over forty years and it is a very traditional Italian style place. I say go to visit Benito’s, you will never forget that experience and that taste of food.

I have been to Benitos a few times over the years but I have found the food too be very badly cooked recently. The fish and meat dishes have been swamped with sauces; the fish was overcooked and the steak of a poor quality. There is a particular waiter who basically stands over you like a praying mantis not leaving you with anytime to make well thought decisions regarding wine lists. He suggests his own favorite as you are coming back with your own choice and then brings his choice to the table and opens it without you actually deciding to have his particular choice of wine. It is quite sad that the standards have dropped as the restaurant has a nice ambiance inside and the rest of the staff are quite charming.
