Food and drink were nice even if the chef was not Thai. (Great, 5 Stars)
Nice Thai style decoration. (Great, 5 Stars)

But...

The the waitress was a ***** with a ******* manner (So -9 Stars)
The result are 1 star rating and I will never step inside there again.

I was in search of a restaurant that served fresh, authentic Thai food and my search stopped the day I stumbled across this cute restaurant tucked away in central London. I genuinely had a good time and the food was fantastic. I was even happier when they announced that they do deliveries that meant I didn’t have to travel to get delicious food.

we visited the blue lagoon on Friday ,it was packed ,the food was excellent ,the green curry and the panang were fabulous , the waitresses were very nice and the atmosphere was wonderful ,it seems that all the customers knew the waitresses ,so obviously they were regulars , we will definitely be back .

I am so surprised at these pleasant reviews. Maybe it was the usual Chefs night off on Friday. My wife and I went on Friday, we love Thai food, unfortunately the absolute muck we were served was appalling. The "Blue Lagoon Platter" stater was very average, tasted like something you would get from the supermarket's frozen oriental selection, only worse. My main was the chicken Pad kea mao, it nearly made me vomit, there was tiny bones in the minced chicken, it had mint instead of basil. The portion of boiled rice wasn't enough for one. The waitress was very good but seemed embarrassed to be serving this muck to us. I don't even think the "chef" was Thai, not that that is important, but knowing how to cook Thai food would have been an advantage. I also notice the "Chef" walking in to the restaurant with a large pile of plastic "take-away" containers full of sauce, make of that what you will. All in all a very disappointing experience, leaving us feeling sick all evening. The Thai bottled beer was excellent though.

You're mistaken G@dge - did you try and fail to get off with one of the waitresses? Shame on you!

I could not agree with G@dge more. Anyone who has any clue about Thai food (sorry make that food in general) will hate Blue Lagoon. The pad Thai noodles were an abomination and clearly weren't cooked fresh to order. The Massaman curry tasted as if someone had dropped a pot of msg in the sauce (although the braised beef in it was quite pleasant). The beef in the Thai green curry was tough and almost inedible. The saving grace was the coconut ice cream, it was delicious. It is now eight hours later and I still feel sick. I won't be going back, but if you are clueless about food then I highly recommend this establishment.

I must say after my visit last week to the blue lagoon it has quickly become my favourite restaurant in London. The manager was extremely friendly and the waitresses didn’t pressure us like I often experienced in most restaurants in London. I don’t see why people would be so harsh on this very elegant and extremely tasty restaurant; it did serve cooked food which tasted very fresh. If people stopped being so pedantic and stopped over exaggerating then many other people will be able to share the same experience that I have which was a calm and pleasant one.

Hi 28carrots (if that is your real name) It would have been nice get off with one of the waitresses, but my wife was there and she sometimes gets a bit funny about things like that, women eh! It's quite obvious by all the positive comments that this can be a really nice restaurant. I think we must have visited on the wrong night, maybe the chef had been replaced by a sewer worker who had bought his "work" to the kitchen.

We went to the blue lagoon to celebrate my brothers birthday. We were treated very nicely and weren't rushed by the waitresses. They also very generous with their portion sizes. The texture of the curries and the panang was unique and overall the food was tasty. The celebration was made very special and they were willing to give up their time to help us find our way back to the hotel that we were staying in.

The blue lagoon was fantastic! The food was very tasty, authentic and full of flavour. The moment we entered the door we could smell the smell of their fantastic cuisine.
The service was excellent and the female manager was extremely polite and flexible with our fussy taste.
I also think that this restaurant is a bargain! Excellent food for a reasonable price. This is the first time i visited the restaurant in a long time and it has improved massively!!

This is a truly dreadful Thai restaurant, only for those who have never had a decent Thai meal in their lives. I ordered a vermicelli salad, and what came out was a dish swimming in sauce with a few threads of soggy vermicelli on the bottom. The prawns tasted decidedly weird and even slightly mouldy. I ate about 10% of it and the waitress did not look surprised. Also, the wine list has only 'Blue Lagoon' wine by the glass. To be given a wide berth.

The meal I had at Blue Lagoon was quite possibly the worst I have ever had. Rancid is to good a word for the food served in Blue Lagoon. Avoid it at all costs.
