After reading the last two reviews I was a little skeptical about trying this place. I work in Tower Hill and always walk past on a Friday lunchtime to see the place buzzing and absolutely full!

So my colleague and i went down last Friday try it out, we didn't make a reservation is it was extremely busy (as always) but the host was very polite and seated us quickly.

The food was sensational! we had the hot wings to start and they were amazing! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my friend had cubes of beef ('Burnt Ends') that quite literally melt in your mouth!

We will definitely be coming back again - the staff were so friendly and even let us in on the 'Q Card' so that next Friday we come in we can have wings on the house!

I would go as far to say its the best BBQ I have ever had!

Unfortunately I had the misfortune to eat here Sept 11. Although it was early evening the place was relatively empty and the atmosphere rather bland - rather like the food.

I had the bowl of chilli to start with. This was served luke warm and very watery. I can only assume this was to make it go further and increase profit margins. The mains was the BBQ chicken, ribs and pulled pork. I actually had to query with the waiting staff if I had been given a child's portion as it was so small. Again I was left with the impression that they were trying to save money by giving tiny portions - not impressed. The ribs were dry and overcooked although the chicken was fine.

What I found most alarming was that when I raised my concerns with staff I was met with a 'like it or lump it' attitude. I found this wholly unacceptable.

Finally as a group booking of around 25 people we were charged £33 per head. Given the standard and amount of food there is no way in my mind that this rates as good value for money. Especially when the Wetherspoons Pub 2 doors down does a curry and beer for £8! I will not be returning and certainly won't be recommending the place to my friends or colleagues.

Bodeans is a meat lovers paradise, the pulled pork is superb. Not sure about the antler ceiling lights but hey - keep looking down at the food and you'll be fine!
