I have eaten here on 3 occasions and each time I have been treated to wonderful simple italian cooking in lovely surroundings. The menu is never the same twice and I like it. No need to rush just enjoy the surroundings and the food.
I don't know if it was me but I didn't quite 'get' this restaurant.
Very expensive, very limited food choice, and very small portions of not very exciting food.
Having said that it is a very cosy, cute restaurant with lots of authentic touches.
But foodwise it was style over substance and you felt they really didn't have to try that hard because the restaurant was so trendy etc.
Coffee fascists... this place is for you. I drool over my little espresso in only two locations in London, Bottega Prelibato is one of them...
On entering this homely, rustic café, I am greeted by welcoming smiles from the friendly, accommodating wait staff and we exchange pleasantries as I try to painfully practice my mediocre Italian language skills. I'm offered a seat anywhere I wish, then quickly given menus and water for the table.
I can't wait until the end of my meal for my espresso, so it's ordered and delivered to my table promptly. Utter bliss in a very tiny cup.
This is not a venue for those looking to utilise chain store discounts (even though they have recently began to offer them), are after speedy in-and-out service, or hoping for ridiculously large menu selections. You come to Bottega if you understand simple, light and tasty, traditional Italian food made from premium quality ingredients. You choose to dine here because you have the time to sip your coffee slowly, enjoy good conversation while you wait for great food to come to your table and understand that some places flow at a different pace, a calm pace, true to Italian tradition.
Bottega Prelibato is my little secret hide-away from the rush-rush of London life. I'd selfishly like it to stay that way. But bad reviews of this Italian gem was enough for me to speak up.
Dear consumer, you misunderstood.
Very slow service.
Food was mediocre, except the starter platter which was terrible.
No beers on offer and limited choice of soft drinks.
In addition we were not allowed to have the buy 1 get 1 free offer on our starter as we ordered 1 starter. The starter was a platter for 2 people and hence twice the price of the other starters.
This is a place to avoid.
