Very small restaurant. Very cramped. Food Ok but not the best. Expensive.
I stop by hear for lunch most months, for food is great make sure you try the chicken Karia, looked at the other user reviews and that not the service i get, mind you i also notice they are just one user review always suspicious!
I left the restaurant extremely disappointed, angry and worst of all I did not enjoy my dining experiencing. The food was fine, and we ate eat because we were starving and had paid for it. The staff I dealt with were very rude, incompetent at appropriately communicating and inconsiderate. I also felt that as a female expressing my discontent, I was disparaged. My brother was told to shut up when asking a legitimate question that one of the waiters failed to honestly answer. It is inappropriate to use words like "shut up, bullshit and piss" when talking to anyone unknown to you and even worse, when talking to customers. It is also unacceptable to wait over 50minutes for your order to arrive without an explanation ("even if it is being cooked from scratch"). It is inappropriate to slam food down on the table when it finally arrives. It is inappropriate to tell your customers (who have paid) to shut up when they are asking legitimate questions or trying to have a reasonable discussion. I certainly did not appreciate being patronised and branded as incapable of reading and understanding English. I was told the manager/ owner is Mr S Ahmed, and I would appreciate some correspondence from him.
After eating regularly at this restaurant, we got ourselves a taste card and were quite happy to realise that Brick Lane Brasserie were included on the deal. However, everything seemed to change when we enquired about using the taste card. The customer service was appalling, plates were dirty and portion sizes were pretty much halved in terms of rice dishes. The staff were extremely rude and tried to over charge us.
Unless they are seating you on their own terms, expect nothing more than awful. We will not be returning, and recommend you try elsewhere.
Note, on their website they publish glowing reviews. this is very misleading. We have seen a number of parties argue with the staff as they continually try to over charge people. Some serious miss-selling going on here, coupled with outright rudeness.
Overpriced and too cramped. We had to squeeze through tables to be seated. Once seated we can hear the conversation of neighbours. Disappointed. The guy at the door gave our neighbour table 50% off their bill at the door. When we asked he said we wouldnt get anything because we never mentioned any deal at the door.
After being promised 30% off meal we were enticed to try this restaurant, well food seemed OK until the following morning when 3 out of the 5 people in our group had food poisoning! This lasted for over a week and we have notified the health executives locally.
As a party of 10, we were very much centre of attention walking along brick lane with the touts. They touted here, but in a more controlled manner. They managed to seat 10 of us together on a Saturday at 8pm. The food? Superb. Mine, and the other's I tried. I had Garlic Chicken Curry, my girlfriend Peshwari Chicken. My friend's Peshwari Naan was clearly cooked in a clay oven and excellent. Also, the Bombay potato (one of my personal favourite's), best I've ever tried. The restaurant is modest inside, we sat downstairs, but don't let that put you off. The best thing? Super value. Cheapest curry I've had in a proper restaurant, including a beer. Just go.
Just got back from a fine Friday night dining experience at the brick lane brasserie. There was a tout on the door making lots of promises however contrary it seems to popular belief about restaurants with touts the chaps in the kitchen here can still turn out a fine and tasty curry. The whole spring chicken with paneer was really good as was the spinach and potato side dish. There were five of us and everyone was happy with their food. At just over £20 each with beer and wine and plenty of food we liked the service, the sense of humour and the great grub! Thanks chaps especially shah for your patience and your recommendations.
Brick Lane Brasserie is a little bit different, that's why I love it! The menu there has some new, interesting dishes as well as the old favourites.
Tends to be fairly quiet in there as it's a well-kept secret but I really hope that Brick Lane Brasserie becomes a success.
