Lovely small intimate venue, nice for a light bite and drink. Large-sized portions of tapas too - the bread and hummus was lovely!
Thank you very much for such a great evening on Wednesday! we loved the food and what a fantastic service! the decor is just surreal, like we were transported to somewhere abroad. Food wise, the goat cheese and figs tart is not to be missed! best Argentine Malbec 2010 Nieto for £ 20 is a real bargain! the people who runs the place knows very well the concept of hospitality and make us feel like at home from the first moment. It's a place not only to eat great food and drink good wines at affordable prices is a place to meet people. Thank you guys for the great experience! Really looking forward to pay another visit soon.
Great place! The staff is always very friendly and up for a chat. The food is great - quesadillas is definitely one of my favourites. Great selection of wines - wines of great quality reasonably priced. Highly recommend it!
Have dinner at Brixton Space and continue across the road at Hootananny :)
I like Brixton Space it always has quality ingredients and nice staff.
However, in the short time it has been there the prices have risen dramatically and it seems that the portions have reduced. I used to frequent there quite a bit but the last few times I have been there the price for what you get isnt worth it until they drop their prices and stop the money grab I wont be going back
Great generous tapas food, god wines , lovely place....
Already addicted to the polenta and mozzarella mix.. Sophie, 3th dec 2011
perfect place for chillin' and watching the world go by..music played sets the right tone and atmosphere . I enjoyed my lunch there recently and the place feels like an oasis of calm and very positive vibes (funky and stylish decor ) .The food was delicious, reasonably priced (beer across the road was almost £1 more expensive ! ) and most importantly the toilet was so clean and smelled so fresh you almost wanted to eat there ! : ) I shall defenitely return for a spot of lunch and tranquility ,it's a great addition to the area! special mention of the owner ( Argentinian guy ) he truly knows how to look after his customers
Went here a few weeks ago after spotting the funky interior whilst walking past. Love the lights hanging from the roof, very relaxed atmosphere. Staff were great and were more than happy to chat. Food was quick, fresh and of excellent quality. The whiting was great, and the cheese platter was a nice finish to our meal. All in all very impressed and will definitely go again! If you want somewhere to graze over great quality food, take your time and chat over a bottle of wine, this is the place to go!
Fantastic place brings life finally to water lane brixton! Food is of excellent quality whilst the front of house service is of the correct engagement and personable level. As mentioed in the previous post no alcohol licence yet but love the bring your own bottle concept that they have for the moment. I will be back definately worth a second visit!
The new kid on the block, Brixton Space just opened last week. Walking distance from Brixton tube station and the Brockwell park, little cafe tapas bar serving dishes from around the world in tapas size, but mine was huge for a tapa and great value for money. Bargain! I 've been there last night and the atmosphere was very relax, few tables but the patrons had the chance to talk to customers every now and then which was nice and intimate. Service was superb for London standards and the food simply delicious. A cheap eatery with a great food, music and decoration. A hidden gem in Brixton Water Lane opposite the Hootannany Pub.
Amazing SPACE like nothing like it in South London! was visiting a friend and we went there for a light meal and a chit chat. Very intimate, great decor in 70's style. Was Friday evening and we had to queue for a bit until a very gentile lady show us a table.
It's run by 2 friends and Argentinian guy who became chef and a Polish lady on the front of the house. Nice tapas menu with lots of special dishes every evening. We had a charcuterie platter, a really nice Thai prawns with an amazing sauce made of lemon grass, ginger and coconut milk and some Spanish pan fried chorizo with beans. We got our own wine next door as they are still waiting for the licence to sell alcohol. The atmosphere was brilliant, was packed with a very eclectic bunch of people and the lady serving was buzzing around the tables chatting with mostly everyone there.
We find out was recently open and it's becoming a great spot on Brixton Water Lane which is less than 10 minutes walk from Brixton Station.
They locally sourced there food in the market every day to keep it as fresh as possible which is a great value because the food was absolutely brilliant! Definitely a place to recommend to everyone! we will come back for more very soon!
