Fantastic service and brilliant food for a very reasonable price. The steak was to die for and so was the cream of parsnip soup. Will definitely go back again.

I would agree with the viewlondon review.

I enjoyed cocktails and food in the downstairs bar area which has a plentiful seating area so no problem getting a table.

The cocktails were fantastic - definitely strong! Try the Grapefruit Cosmopolitan - delicious!

We ordered bar snacks while sitting downstairs which were very good value - especially for the tapas style dishes which are great to share for social, informal dining.

The calamari was absolutely fantastic! All in all - Browns lives up to everything that it offers - a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful building and high quality, great value food and drinks.

I will definitely be trying the upstairs restaurant next time!

Well my experience was the polar opposite to that of 'anonymous'.

The service was uniformly excellent - attentive, friendly, and accommodating; they were more than happy to keep open a table for my party, delaying this not once but twice.

Cocktails were excellent - and certainly don't skimp on the booze content!

The food was terrific. Prior to the main meal some of our party had 'canape' snacks; items such as the chorizo, prawn tempura, fishcakes and gravadlax were sumptuous.

'Proper' dishes from later on included the scallops and beautiful fat, juicy prawns. Mains included an excellently cooked steak, a fine beef wellington and lobster. Sticky toffee pud was a lovely finish too.

I must also make mention and say Browns itself looked terrific (courtesy of a recent refurb, I understand?) and there was a good atmosphere too - not stuffy or overly pretentious like most City bars/restaurants that I could care to mention.

Highly recommended.

Spent an evening at Browns with a group of friends and had a really enjoyable evening. The atmosphere was relaxed, unstuffy and the staff were very attentive providing us with delicious cocktails that packed a punch. No complaints with the food, the seafood was fresh and our steaks cooked as we had asked them to be; I only wish I had saved enough room for dessert!

Browns is OK but you can do a lot better. Browns do OK pasta, OK burgers and OK everything.
Pretty average all round then.
