definitely not one , i will eat in again, the day i was there the EHO came in and shut the place down in December, so that speak for it self. Good Luck
I have visited this restaurant on Sunday 3pm and ordered the typical Malaysia rice dishes - Nasi Lemak.
Half way through the eating I realized there is a dead cockroach mixed with the dried small fishes.
I highlighted to the waitress immediately. She simply took it away without apology. It was too slow for me to take a picture as she seems familiar in practicing such acts.
You might want to think twice for your own hygiene benefit before visiting this restaurant. Good luck.
Being a Singaporean, having authentic food from Malaysia/Singapore in London was a treat, since I have been in E europe for 6 months, where decent chinese food are hard to come by.
We had 3 adults, 2 child - ordered Char Kway Teow, House Specialty Rice, Singapore Prawn Food Noodle and Mee Goreng (not the indian mee goreng, which was also available in the menu). Kway Teow was not too dark and sweet, nicely done and you can add chilli upon request.
Different taste compared to Sedap but was good in its own way. Prawn noodle had enough gravy but vermicelli used was fine, not the thick noodle type.
Mee Goreng was not spicy enough for me, but the cook did go easy on the oil. The house specialty rice had a egg over a bowl of rice, gravy topped with vegetables & seafood. Not the usual "mui fan" and would have preferred more gravy as rice was dry.
The Kang Kong Belachan is a must try. Did not had the opportunity to try Bak Kut Teh and we were unable to try their nasi lemak, laksa etc as serving was quite large.Strongly recommend. They have nice cut green chilli as well! Toilet cleanliness could improve though.
I try this restauant a while ago, food was too oily and too salty.
Sevice is a little bit slow. The server don't have enough experience. People woking there don't have smile.
I have been eating in all different Malay restauants, seems like they are copying the other restauant's, decoration, drinks and even music are Poor.
Don't bother to go there.
The worst restaurant i have been to in Chinatown, it was busy, so told to eat across the road at a shop counter , other wise i had to wait longer to eat in the restaurant.
We got a seat in the restaurant , for the four of us, it took a long time to take our order, we told the waitress we waited a long time for our table and then to get some service, she did not like this & spoke to a fat lady behine the till, ( i think we should hav left at this point!!)
When we got our beer, it was too warm, ask them to change it , the said they would not, but gave us a glass of ice each, and said this is how they drink beer in malaysa (i think i am been scam).
Food took over 45 minute (now you know why there a q), and was only warm and well below avarage for look or taste. we only pick at the food, it was that bad!!( should have left)
we quickly paid our bill and left,
it came to a total of £55.00 for 4 warm beer , 2 warm noodle dishes, 1 warm soup noodle, 1 curry with rice & 1 greasy satay prawn
(we decided not to say anything, it not worth the bother to upset our night out)
we want for a beer & pick another restaurant, the night was saved
Lovely Malaysian food at decent prices in the West End. Grabbed a bite before seeing Avenue Q nearby - which is also great by the way!
