Cactus Pit is a typical Tex-Mex restaurant, in that it’s best when visited by a large group looking for tequilla shots and margaritas.On the quiet Sunday afternoon we visited, we opted for the two courses for £10.95 (plus service) set meal offer.Both starters were amazingly small. The nachos were barely a dinner plate worth spread in a single layer, and the “potato skins” was actually a single small potato sliced into two halves. One woman at another table expressed surprise at how small her starter was, and the waiter apologised!After the disappointing start, we were both pleased to see the chicken fajitas were comprised of a good sized serve of three soft tortillas, salad, guacamole, sour cream, japalenos and a plate of sizzling chicken with peppers and onion.Overall, unless you’re looking for a party atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night and want to go to their basement nightclub or specifically want Tex-Mex food in Blackheath, there are plenty of other options in the village.

I went here for a birthday meal and a few drinks with friends at the weekend and we had a fantastic time.

We had not booked and waited for only 5 minites for a table to fit our party was cleared. The staff were really friendly and overall was great service.

The best part were the cocktails! We sat till closing trying all the cocktails on the menu and a few we made up ourseleves!

Overall it was a great night and I will be returning!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The meal was a disaster from the initial booking - the website offers 'on-line booking' however after submitting an online booking, we recieved no response for an entire week (do they not want our money?!) We then had to phone the restaurant the day before to confirm the booking, to which we were told that they had not recieved a booking because 'they do not check online booking regularly'!

Upon arrival (we were 5 minutes late actually) they had not even bothered to put enough tables together for our party which is quite ridiculous considering that the only other guests were one group and two couples. After several minutes of commotion waiting for tables to be moved, we were seated.

It then took 20 minutes for our drinks orders to be taken and a further 25 minutes for the drinks to be recieved. We found it quicker to go to the bar and get the second round of drinks. The starters took 45 minutes to arrive after ordering, by this time we were all getting rather impatient not to mention hungry! However, not only did the starters arrive, the main courses started to arrive at the same time?! Now I have never been a waiter, but surely common sense would tell you never to bring out a starter and main at the same time, how can you eat one without the other getting cold?! Following much confusion and finger pointing that it was our fault, mains were returned no doubt to be put in the over and kept warm. All of the meals were brought out at different times, rather than one after the other which meant that some of us had finished by the time others recieved their courses, very disappointing.

Following complaints, the staff were fully aware that we were unhappy with the poor level of service we had been given, yet they still decided to slap a 10% service (!) charge on top of our bill with no apology for the shoddy service.

There are so many other good restaurants in Blackheath and Greenwich so AVOID like the the plague!!

the waiters were hovering around you as soon as they see you had nearly finished your food they was beside you ready to take the plate away.

The food is not all that great either and not well presented.

Not helpful or friendly, as there was quite a big party we asked if they could do a selection of starters for us to share

we was told we had to have the set menu for this that did not have much choice.

This is somewhere i would never go again.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
