These guys are cheats. They short changed me. I gave them a £20 I had on the table waiting to pay the bill - I had no doubt how much it was because my friend and I were talking about UK money. When they gave me change for £10 I told them they’d made a mistake. The 3 waiters suddenly grouped and became really aggressive and starting swearing and telling me to get out. They absolutely knew what they had done, the guy the took the cash starting smiling, I couldn’t believe it. When my friend asked them why they were behaving like this they told her to F’Off. She was a tourist and had never witnessed behaviour like this before. I would warn anybody thinking of going to this place to be careful. Disgusting people.

I have lived in close this cafe for 18 years and have been in many times over the years. Never really happy with it until now. The present owners Have it in my opinion perfect for what it is, A Caf'e with a very good and excellently priced menu. Lets not forget location how perfect all year round stunning views over the canal at Little Venice. Some people are saying a bit slow on service, well if you relax and take a deep breath and enjoy the location its not slow. Good food takes time it is not a fast food joint. Take a two minute walk to Clifton road to eat, the price will soar and the food or service will not get any better. I highly recommend if it is on their specials boardlinguine with king Prawns and a asparagus Sauce wowkeep it guys( 18 years now its great)

We walked into this place while strolling the Regent's Canal a Sunday 5pm.

After saying we only wanted drinks, we were told with a slight scowl there were only cold drinks available.

Being naive, we didn't take the hint and ordered a beer and a juice. Meanwhile, we noticed other tables with hot drinks and hot drinks being made while we waited.

We confronted them and were told they said no hot drinks due to the lack of milk. That was it - she needed to take a class in lying. We walked out.

This is a classic "for-the-view" place with a brutal tradeoff in service and competence.

I was looking few days ago where to go and eat in London. My friends from back home recommended that I go to cafe laville for its food and the amaizing view, but I was put off by the reviews...Anyways I decided to go for a coffe and mostly for the view I ended up having an amaizing lunch and an amaizing service. I thought I will never write a good or bad reviews on any sites, but what crescent is writting is not a review it's a grudge against the restaurant it self or the manager. I took my time to write my first and last review only because I do think they deserve it for their great work.

Can't agree with the other reviewers -- we had a most pleasant waitress from Albania; the salads were delicious as was the wine, and the view over the canal is terrific.

Despite the great location, con't go here! The food is mediocre at best and the service is horrible. The menu is very tired and the staff takes forever to serve. Also, the tables are tiny.

Rude Rude Rude! I can honestly say that the owner of this place has no idea how to run a business. I have never felt the need to write a review before I experience the arrogance and sheer rudeness of the staff at this establishment. If you are considering Laville think again, there are several other restaurants / cafes in the area that are far superior.
