Food is quite nice, and great selection of drinks and bubble tea, which I love.
I have been here before a few times, and while those times service wasn't this bad, it wasn't exactly good either, but I was willing to overlook it for the nice menu.
However, last time I went service was terrible. The waitresses seem to have attitude problems. I went on thursday 29th, around 3pm with a friend. When we sat down I had an important phone call which took a while, approx 10 mins. During this time, the girl came to take our orders twice, this first time my friend told her to wait since we aren't ready, and the second time my friend again told her to wait for me to finish my call. Both times the waitress walked off in a huff, and her expression was clearly put out...could she not see I hadn't even opened the menu?
after this I went to ask at the counter if I could have a tissue and borrow a pen, the girl just ignored me.
When we were ready we tried for a long time to call the waitress back [who was at the counter] but either she couldn't hear us or was ignoring us...since there was only one other table in the whole place, I'm going with the second option. The other table next to us even turned around to see why we weren't being served.
By this time we were pretty hungry, and we got so fed up we walked out.
Candy Cafe is awesome, I have been a loyal customer for nearly half a year and the service has been impeccable so far. I really love the Passion Fruit Green Tea with pearl. The venue is great, though a bit squeezy during busy times. The owner of the cafe is great and very polite and friendly. I go to Candy cafe at least thrice every week and the standard of the tea is always the same every time I visit. It is truly a gem of Chinatown! :)
I think 1 Star is too many for them. The service and bubble tea was atrocious! The got our orders wrongly, so we went back and get a change. The person looks unhappy but unwilling helped us change because we have already started drinking when we realised they got our orders wrongly. The person would rather take bac the wrong order and throw it away. We were fine with that. However when we tasted the replacement drinks, we found out that to our horror, they tasted so diluted. In short, they cheated us by giving us less ingredients just because we made them correct the wrong order. The drinks tasted horrible. Please just don't go back there.
The bubble tea was nice - its such a shame the service was so terrible. After we were seated we tried to move to a booth as the stools were quite uncomfortable - but the waiter told us that we weren't allowed to sit there so we moved back - yet the next set of people who walked in were allowed to sit in the booth straight away. We were then asked to move two more times within the space of two minutes - ? The waitor was rude; he cleared our cups away as soon as we finished the last drop, and gave us our bill immediately. I certainly won't be offering my custom there a second time.
Very rude Chinese waitress! Beware! This is a genuine review! There seems to be 3 staff (all Chinese women). One in the kitchen, one sitting in the corner staring at the laptop all the time and this rude waitress. It’s our 1st time to come in Candy Cafe as it seems the most internet reviews are decent and responses of Candy Café appears to be polite. We never expected that we would meet this rude waitress. This was happened on the 9th Oct 2010 around 3pm.1stly, not sure what to order and we were looking at the menu in our table. When we were ready I approached the counter and face this waitress to tell my order. As this is our 1st time, I wasn’t sure about our order and would like to know more about it but suddenly she get a bit annoyed when I started asking about our order she told me in a very unpleasant tone“would you like to see the menu first before you come to Candy Cafe!”i was shocked and never expected this response! I got back on our table and after few minutes finalised our order went back again to the counter and made an order without knowing what our order would look like. There are lots of pictures of drinks on the wall and the menu but no description on what type of category drinks they are! My young daughter followed me in the counter and took some straws in the counter as her mother asked her to get some straws for our drinks. I didn’t know she was asked by her mother and this waitress told off my poor daughter in a very unpleasant tone saying that the straws are not for playing! When we got back to our table my poor girl just cried and felt so embarrassed! This was a very unpleasant day. A busy day for them but to work in a service industry, this is not the right attitude to deal with customers! This is one of the places where these people don’t really care whether you will come back or not even if they give your poor/rude service. They believe that they have many customers already and losing a few irregular customers would not really matter. Shame o
I cant believe this place has been open for over a year and i only discovered it today!
At last a place that serves my yummy desserts.
Tried the mango and pomela sago and the hot coconut sago with peanut ball rice balls(tong yuen).
I must admit that the hot coconut sago wasn't as good as i hope(not enough coconut cream) the peanut balls are great though, still a fab dessert.
The mango and pomela sago is great just like the one from the famous HK dessert shop 'Hui lau san'
Defo be back to try out all the other desserts.

The only proper bubble tea hub you can find in London :)
Waaaaahh. I love Candy Cafe! This is somewhere I can come all through the day till late into the evening. Just chill, without having to deal with wasted drunk people. It has such a nice atmosphere and great bubble tea - authentic with lots of bubbles and a great taste (not like some other places that only add a tiny amount of bubbles or have really artificial flavours) they have loads of awesome desserts too and many different toppings for your tea. Visit Candy Cafe, Spread the word, it's ace! Claire from uk x :d
How I can I say it? I have lived a year in London, I love London, I'm from barcelona, then I do not like the weather in London but I can understand, but I do not like cold people and I can not understand it. Many people are very cold in London. The only place where I feel at home is in Candy Cafe, not just the quality of the products, especially the quality of people working there. Now I'm in Barcelona for my holiday but my first cafe in London when I get back of course will be in Candy Cafe. Absolutely recommended! Angel.
Ive been there a few times but on my birthday, 27th june, i was not happy with the service.
The food and drinks are generally very nice, The interior is small so most of the time, ppl have to share a table with someone else.
During my last visit, me and my husband shared a table of 6. Whilst still having our dessert, 2 ppl on our table left. Just a minute later, a group of 5 ppl arrived at th door. There were other tables available but the lady chose to make us sit somewhere else. I feel offended and annoyed to move seats whilst still enjoying our desserts. It wasnt a polite request. It was a demand.
I was not happy so I left, with my drink unfinished.
Very delicious bubble tea!!
Staffs are very kind and polite.
I love this cafe.
It is actually above a (very good) restaurant in China Town, so look upward to see the signs. Basic functional decor but very comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Quickly seen to by waitress when we came in, the menu was varied and well priced. Kaya toast, mango snow ice, bubble tea, hk tea. All lovely (and we tried about 8 things on the menu!)also has free wifi, which is a great bonus. Expect a little queue inside if you arrive at a super busy Friday night, but it is totally worth it. Nb: there were no tourists whilst I was in there!
Wonderful quiet little joint serving comfort food from Malaysia/Singapore.
The glutinous rice balls coated in crushed peanuts is delish. Equally sumptious are the bubble milk teas.
Lychee milk tea was our top pick. Kaya butter toast (the only cafe that sells it at a reasonable price) was perfect with the Ipoh coffee...mmm. Feels like home :)
