I recently visited this restaurant with a friend. Everything was fine at first, we received our food order on time, the fodd was pretty ordinary, nothing that great, the pasta sauce tasted like something I would have made. i.e. was most definitely out of a jar quite honestly. We were brought what we thought was complimentary bread sticks, bread, olive oil and olives. We did not order these so thought that they were free...when we received the bill, there was a £2.00 charge on there (not the service charge but like a sundries charge) for these items, apparently, there is a stagement on the menu that if you don't want to receive these items, you have to tell the waiting staff! We couldn't find this anywhere on the menu. When I complained - politely - that we would not be paying this charge, the waiter (who claimed to be the owner?!) actually raised his voice to me that we should have seen it on the menu. I have never been spoken to in a restaurant like that before I couldn't believe his rudeness. I would highly recommend anybody to NOT visit this establishment - they are a bunch of rude, thieving idiots and the food is sub standard!

I love this quaint little italian trattoria

I live nearby and find it refreshing that there are still family run italian restaurants where service is good and food consistent

I swear they serve the best spaghetti bolognese, veal milanese and tiramisu!

In the summer they also have a kind of garden patio where they let me take my dog and I can smoke.

A group of 4 of us went here on Saturday night; going back because both I and others in my party had always had a positive experience in this restaurant - both food and service wise. However, last night was different.

The food itself was good but the experience and service were amongst the worst i experienced in London including insulting and nasty. In the very digruntled and unfriendly owner calling (allegedly) the police since we didn't want to pay service charge. Reasons include

1. Wait time of over 40 minutes for the entree (1st dish) to arrive
2. Another 40+ minutes for the second dish to arrive
3. A reluctance to give us any further bread while waiting
4. A waitress who seemed to only carry one item at a time - or max two
5. When asked for the bill, not getting the bill but rather serving the table next to use a glass of water, a pot of sugar one at a time
6. The disrespectful attitude of the owner

The owner accussed of asking for too much bread because we are French!! And how dare you be hungry in my restaurant where you have to wait nearly an hour to be served. (?) I'm actually italian-new yorkaise and was with another girl from Hong Kong and two french. Italians don't eat bread? Only French do?

We didn't pay the service charge which caused an altercation which seemed to make the owner more nervous. We have the leagal right not to pay so her calling the police made no sense.

I will never go back, sorry for them to have lost neighbourhood residents who would have happily had become returing customers. Sorry for them I'm also sorry for you if you visit there and continue to support the two faced unprofessional woman who runs the place.
