This place is massively overrated. I used to eat here periodically then stopped after a bad incident. The service is atrocious. The last time I was there I was with a girlfriend and we were seated in the downstairs area. In the corner of the room there was (I kid you not) a plastic box type thing filled with dirty dishes sitting on the FLOOR. This was in the open for everyone to see. If that's the hygiene they practice in front of paying customers I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes.

I recently revisited Cay Tre and it was just as amazing as the first time I have been there.
The food is just simply delicious!! And I like the atmosphere of the restaurant too.
The waiters are friendly and very helpful.
I had the frog legs, the lobster and the tapioca cake for dessert and everything was a pleasure to eat. Will dine here again! =)

Cay Tre is one of my favourite restaurants in London. I go to Song Que for cheap and cheerful, but if I want a nice leisurely dinner.. I go to Cay Tre.

There is an excellent spread to choose from, and they do excellent seafood dishes.I’ve tried the famous La Vong grilled fish, and would highly recommend that when you have a table of 2 and up.

The waiter will come to your table to cook this starter for you, and it is all very exciting while you look on in anticipation. Your tastebuds won’t be disappointed either.

For something different, I’d recommend the cat fish - I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was done.. topped with a sweetish gravy of sorts, the flesh is tender and moist. I’ve never had anything like that anywhere else..

I’d recommend Cay Tre if you want to order dishes (that go with rice). This is definitely a place a to enjoy true, authentic Vietnamese, without a doubt to be the best Vietnamese Restaurant in London
