It was Valentines on the 14th February 2012 when my partner and I decided to give Cheyenne spur restaurant a go.
We had not previously read the reviews thus we did not know what their service including food were like. As the restaurant looks busy, we were told by the waitress that we would have to wait for a table of two (20mins Wait), this was fine by us. Eventually we had a table and we ordered our meal. One T-bone steak and One spare ribs, the meat tasted nice except that the vegetables just did not look fresh enough although mildly fried so you wouldn't think anything was up.
We felt ok though after we left the restaurant that night 22:00 hrs until the following day when we both realised we couldn't get off the bed, belly cramps, blotted belly, body aches, she couldn't move and we couldn't even go to the toilet however that wasn't all, three days of constipation and by Friday, my partner had to be taken to the GP to figure out why she couldn't go to the toilet?, she was prescribed Lactulose 300ml to help with the constipation.
We are looking for ways to report this restaurant to the authorities, as it seems their food / green produce is not hygienic enough to be served to the public.
Very pale in comparison to the quality that is expected from Spur restaurants in South Africa. Very disappointing experience. Ordered the crumbed mushrooms as starter and they were fried in oil that obviously had been used too often. The steak was ordered medium, arrived well done and to make things worse the ribs were dry!
When i reflect on my experience at this Spur restaurant, i find myself coming to this conclusion. Give it a miss! Its been over a year now with continuous average to bad ratings, and they still have not improved.
I went to Cheyenne Spur at the o2 centre in Greenwich for a friends birthday. We were made to wait 45 minutes for a table of 10.Whilst we waited the manager came out to tell us that we would have to pay a deposit of £100 before he would seat us because we looked like a group of people who would run off without paying for our food. After we had ordered we waited a whole hour before our food arrived. The food was over-priced and NOT FILLING at all. This was the first time I had been to a restaurant and not been full after the main meal. On top of that I paid for a bottomless drink but could only drink half the glass because there wasnt enough food on my plate to make me thirsty enough to finish my drink.I do have one positive thing to say; our waiter was good. But the rest of the service and the food was rubbish, not satisfying and a waste of money. Never going back there again.
My partner and I went to spur with my children, it looked busy. The children went straight to playroom then came out saying it was babyish. The waiter was fairly friendly and took our order, it arrived quickly. My son had a child's pizza meal, and as he tore the pizza apart he asked 'what is the green stuff'. We had a closer inspection and found it to be mould. We took it straight back, the waiter said this is not acceptable! Of course it's not! The manager came to our table, apologised several times, but didn't really want to know my thoughts on this matter, my son is allergic to penicillin! The manager said my son could have anything he wanted. He also said he would not charge us for he's meal and would give us 50% off rest of bill. On the way home my partner started to feel ill, then myself. Hot flushes, feeling sick and stomach cramps! I will be reporting Cheyenne Spur Steak and Grill, and I will never be visiting Cheyenne Spur Steak and Grill ever again!
went to Spur the other night, nice restaurant good food. we didn't have to wait long to be served either! good service and friendly staff!
We as a family have never been to or heard about this restaurant before.
In The Night Garden was at the O2 and as we were walking past this restaurant our kids caught the sight of many kids playing in a sandpit
My son+daughter(both 4yrs) were amazed and made us promise to come back to this restaurant after the show
Because we have never heard of this chain before,i was slightly apprehensive, but seeing all the kids having fun outside we opted to try this venue-and what a pleasant surprise
There was a bit of a wait for a table outside as it was full but we were informed and very soon we had a seat for 4
Outside was a sandy beach which had loads of kids and we were really amazed that suddenly in the middle of a restaurant there was a sandy environment for kids to have fun
The food and service was outstanding and obviously this is a child friendly environment as my kids were treated like royalty, and made a fuss about-our waitress was a Asian lady who fussed about the 2 kids-something we not used to in London
The only downside is that the waitress informed us that this is a beach promotion and will only last till end August-please,please can you get the bosses to reconsider their decision as we had a great time and the beach area outside for kids is a winner so please keep it going

Never been disappointed-when ever we are in the O2(show or no show),we are always eating at this branch of Spur
We are treated like royalty and always made to feel special, especially with all the staff and mangers who recognise us,which is a rather nice treat in London
We love the weekday specials and the lovely onion rings-yummy
My kids are mad about the kids play area and now we see they have a beach outside the unit-yippee cant wait to take the kids down this weekend

Went to Spur for the first time with a group of friends. Wasn't really that busy. The service was good, can't complain about that. I ordered the ribs and wings special (every thursday and sunday), where you get to eat an unlimited amount. The food came, got large rack of ribs, serving of chips, deep fried onion rings and a little bit of salad. I Wasn't impressed with the ribs, they were overcooked and tasted awful. The wings were okay. The platter is definitly not worth £12.95! I would have payed £8 maximum.
When I got home (about 5 hours later), I started to feel very sick and in the middle of the night, I was throwing up and had bad diahorrea. I would never go back again! Not just because I got food posioning, but the food itself was poor. You're always better off finding busy places to eat at the 02, especially during the summer when a broken down fridge can turn meat bad very quickly!
Visited O2 for first time on 1 June, looking for somewhere to eat, tried Cheyenne Spur as never heard of group previously. What a treat, my wife and I both had the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection, asked for medium rare and that was how we got it, probably one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Whole meal and starter excellent. Our waitress, Nang, was very attentive and very efficient, she also had good knowledge of the food on offer and how it was cooked. Will definitely use restaurant again when we visit O2 again. Will definitely recommend to friends.

What a relief to find a Spur-as i Saffa i truely miss home at the best of times-especially with the weather and was glad to find a spur close to my home-i must admit that i thought the service and food were better than some of the spur"s i visited in southafrica-thanks spur guys
Very poor staff service, the waitress didn't take down our order properly and was overall rude. I recommend that evryone give this place a wide berth
Great staff and brilliant food-especially the ribs-
try this venue on Sunday for their unbelievable offer on all you can eat ribs and wings-
great bbq sauce on ribs-even bottomless soft drinks

I would not normally bother to write into a review, but on this occasion, especially after reading all the negative comments i have to say the following,
what a great night out, especially that it was a show night at the O2-
yes we had to wait to get into this venue, but so did everybody else-in fact all the restaurants in the O2 on this occasion were "jam packed"-
i was extremely impressed by the speed of service from both waitron+kitchen staff-our starters arrived within minutes of us arriving and what great portion sizes.the staff all seemed to be enjoying their jobs as everybody was happy and smiling.
the main course dishes were reasonably priced considering the area they in as well as that the dishes were served with extra"s and we did not have to pay any more for it.
I watched in amazement how quickly people entered this venue, ate and left, thus allowing the staff to turn their tables so quickly.I expected the service to be "wishy washy" as they were turning tables so quickly,
but quite the contrary-the waiter Aron was exceptional and made us feel as if nothing was to difficult for him to do-even suggested a "dogy bag" as we could not complete our meal-the best part was the tequila lady that appeared at various intervals dishing out tequila-free to the patrons.
I absolutely commend the staff who work here as i def would not as it is so busy-the only downside was the wait to get in,
but once inside you are made to feel a million dollars-thanks Spur we will definitely be back
Great food, outstanding service for such a high profiled venue-
we even got sang to for my birthday-embarressed yes but loved it.
thank you to all the staff at Cheyenne Spur for making my night-especially the waitress Sylwia

As a South African I decided to spend my birthday meal at the Cheyenne Spur at the O2.
We travelled from the Midlands, spent the day in London and ended the day on a boat to the Spur.
We arrived at the restaurant at 10.15pm and was disappointed to find the doors locked.
After knocking to get the attention of the staff, who was cleaning, a young man came to the door (without opening) explaining they were closed.
Me and the party went next door to Nando's and had a meal there. I went back to the Spur, and ask a girl who was cleaning the outside area what the closing time was, 1030 she replied.
At this stage it was 1020pm. Inside Nando's another couple was talking about the same experience, they arrived at 1013, had the same hand gestures through the window that the Spurt was closed.
I keep on asking myself, a Saturday night, loads of people in the O2 looking for something to eat, well this spoilt the day, and I will definitely not make that effort again

Terrible. Greasy, overfried and food took ages to arrive. Why pay £15 for a steak salad and soft drink (my friend) and £10 for a burger and soft drink (me) when you can have better at McDonalds for a fraction of the price?
Unfortunately I have to give this restaurant a low rating not because of the food but because of the complete lack of customer service from the Female Manageress.
We arrived at the restaurant and queued due to it being a busy day at the O2. There was a party of 7 of us and eventually we were taken to a table outside. We had a problem with this as firstly there some sort of Jazz festival going on at the O2 and there was a big stage just behind where we were seated with the music blaring out so we had to shout to each other to be heard. It was also very cold with the overhead heaters not working.
We asked politely to be moved and were told very abruptly it wasnt possible. We then asked to speak to the Manager to which the girl replied that she was the manager. We explained the situation about why we wanted to move only for her to shrug her shoulders. Absolutely shocked by her attitude we even offered to go back to the front of the queue to wait for a table inside but she said if we wanted to move we would have to go out the restaurant and join the back of the queue as it would be unfair on the other people in the queue who were waiting. We explained that we would be freeing up a table so no one was missing out as we had already queued anyway and that she was severely lacking in customer service skills and our request wasnt unreasonable. I did lose it a bit and called her a "retard" as she was not understanding a perfectly reasonable request. She went on to say she didnt know how long before any tables would be available we told her we wasnt bothered about the wait and surprisingly 2 minutes later we had a table inside.
Our waitress obviously hadnt attended the Managers etiquette school yet as she was very helpful.
Anyway the food was great even though we had to wait an hour for it from ordering.
In these days of credit crunch if Spur think that it is acceptable for a Manager to behave the way this one did then they are sorely mistaken.
Having visited Spur restaurants in South Africa, we were pleasantly suprised to find one whilst at th O2 Arena. We were seated reasonably quickly, and as we were going to a concert we asked how long food would take and were told 20 mins. We waited and waited and waited, the staff seemed to be avoiding us and our food (we opted for simple burgers in the hope that they would be cooked quite quickly) was delicious, but took an hour to arrive, leaving us having to bolt the food down in 5 minutes and running to catchthe beginning of the concert. The place is obviously not geared up at all for a busy night in London's top entertainment spot, which was very disappointing. The manager eventually surfaced with a vague apology, but this place really needs sorting out, I hope they manage to do so, because the food is very good.
I went in this Resturant last week,Food is So nice,But i order for a chiken breast, but wen its comes its look like so small,i call for any manager to ask wat happend why breast so small, then one black mix lady comes she`s behaviour with us so Rude,She said its our Menu, its small so what we can do?
im really so disappointed,me my wife look at that manager, but she`s behavoiur is totally different, and i dont think so she dont know how to talk with costomers, and i dont think so how to standing on front of costumers, anyways im so disappointed from that behaviour.its totally disappointment.I heard good things before that but now my views are totally different after that manager behaviour.
Anderson.
Visited the Spur on Saturday (20/09) and being South African was looking forward to having a familiar scenery and food. I ordered the BBQ chicken breast, the picture made it look delicious and reasonably priced. When the food arrived, I was very disappointed with my meal. All I received was ONE small piece of chicken, which was accompanied by the other optional extras. Why pay so much for a piece of chicken when I could have gotten the same on a burger for at a lower price? What also added to the disappointment was that it took the waitress 10 minutes to bring us a bill, which was the wrong one (who initially brought us someone else’s bill) and took her another 15 minutes to get the right bill (which was handled by the manager who ignored us when we wanted to query the meal). When I finally got the chance to speak to the manager (after me having to go up to her force to listen) she told me that this was a new menu and the kitchen is not aware of it and there was nothing she could do. By this stage, I was already 15 minutes late for my movie, and didn’t want to waste any more time over what appeared to be an inexperience manager that had no interest in listening to dissatisfied customer or upholding the restaurants reputation. What really took me by surprise was her unwillingness to apologise for the mistake. That was my first and last trip to the Spur O2 as I believe it was misrepresentation of what was on the menu and the service is very poor. I have no hang ups with the other branches.
Went to spur about 2 weeks ago, My food was ok, guess it was because i was hungry. Well my experience, The Managers have a serious attitude problem.
My wife and I went to see a concert on sunday and decided to have have dinner here. being south african i went with high expectations. I must say we were both pleasantly supprised. The food service and price were very good.
I will definatly recommend the place to both family and friends.
Thank-you spur.
In Short i'll say this restaurant is fabulous, I went to this restaurant for my Sons birthday and we booked in for a steak challenge. We had an unforgetable experience. The management and waitrons have a great manner of service and I am pretty sure i can still remember the people that served me. Manager was Chris and he was just so kind, Accomodating, and helpfull, And the waiter was named Moon kinda cool name But he is atually as cool as his name. We had a steak overcooked and he got us another one in no time. Great customer service. I will recomend thi place to all my family an will go back there soon. OOH I forgot it was my Sons Birthday an the way they sing for a birthday is really amaizing cheering. Thanks to everyone there. And will be back Soon.
in one word? awful.
I went to this place to eat, and the staff were awful, the greeter was rude when we entered, we got plonked on a table where the waiter took ages to ask us what we'd like to eat. took a long time to get our drinks and then our food, the cutlery was dirty when we finally got it.
our meal was finished and our plates sitting in front of us for 20 minutes, before we had to ask a passing waiter to get our bill (our waiter was pissing about with another person - completely oblivious to us). the waiter we asked said ok, and wander off for another 15 minutes and we had to ask another waiter for the bill, who said he couldn't help, and went to get out assigned waiter. we finally got the bill and out plats were cleared away and to our amazement we were asked "if everything was ok"- shocking.
Just been reading the various reviews on the Cheyenne - never sent a restaurant review before, but felt I needed to now! We were there to see Prince in September and despite the long queue etc we were seated quite quickly! The service was excellent in view of how busy it was, and I could not fault the food or wine. In fact I would go as far as to say, it was one of the best meals I have ever had either in the UK or abroad. I was raving about the place for days afterwards and I'm now looking to go back there again later in the year. Thanks again to all staff for such an enjoyable experience.
We had a really good experience here and are surprised to read the negative reviews. Service was really good , food excellent and as ex South Africans, we thought it was better than the Spur we visited in SA earlier this year in April.
We will definitely be back!
I have to say this must rate as one of the lowest culinary experiences ever. As a party of five, not only did we suffer the embarrassment of only getting four out of five main courses, but the food was little better than takeaway standard and we still ended up paying full whack!
The manager did at least answer my e-mailed complaint but has since decided to completely ignore any further communication - guess they got my money and that's what counts, isn't it?
I was at Cheyenne Spur in the 02 and was absolutely amazed. There were three people sitting at the table next to ours who gave the waitress an incredibly difficult time.
It was on a concert night and the Spur was running a queue. The staff were exceptionally busy and trying to accommodate all as best they could. However, I was disgusted to find the table next to ours pick apart the waitress, then proceed to call over the manager and explain how disgusted they were with everything. After listening to them harassing this poor manager it was quite evident to me that they were looking for a freebie.
I am just posting this review as I feel they were incredibly unfair to the ladies at Spur that night and people really just need to grow up and acquire some restaurant etiquette.
It really is a bad reflection on the rest of us and one day when there really is a problem I doubt we'll get much sympathy from the restaurant managers.
Appalling in many ways. The long list includes: moving tables to avoid cold blast of air from air conditioning (wall-mounted artwork with feathers above our table was merrily dancing), soggy tasteless starters, grim-tasting burger with slop-on sauce, long waits. Whad to ask for service and staggered out in disbelief. We are ex-South Africans attracted to the restaurant to relive a memory of the Spurs restaurants in SA. This killed it!
Awful, awful, awful. The wine was warm and no ice-bucket! The starters over-done. The faitas were the worse I've ever seen. Veg option should have a good assortment of vegetables, not just onions and a few peppers.
Will avoid like the plague. Suggest you do too.
