Attentive, friendly service with delicious food. My steak was cooked exactly as ordered and the creme brulee was great. My partner was equally pleased and we managed to get in 2 courses and coffee, before the theatre without anything being rushed.

Cosier than the Covent Garden branch, I will definately be back.

Well done.

Under no circumstances go into this restaurant at busy times. Due to problems on public transport we arrived at the restaurant at 6.20 on a Saturday evening, taking a spare table only when I had made it clear to the person greeting us that we had only an hour to eat before we had to leave for our show. When we ordered, I again told our waiter that we would have to leave at 7.20. When we ordered our second round of drinks I again emphasised that we were short of time. At seven o'clock our waiter said our food would be with us in two minutes (a clear lie, as it turned out). Our food arrived at 7.10, forty minutes after we had given our order, and ....cold. We sent it back, paid for our drinks (average about £4 each) and left, hungry.

While we were sitting there, two of the three people sitting at a table opposite were served their meals, but the third person sat there....hungry. His meal was finally served to him after his companions had finished theirs.

The staff were apologetic in a sort of 'this happens quite often' sort of way, but there is clearly no management in this restaurant, the chef does what he likes, and the food is left standing around before being served to the tables.

Appalling service, ineffective management, total incompetence. We left to go into the nearby McDonalds, and, to my eternal shame, were served efficiently with hot food at a fraction of the price.

A terrible experience, and it's turned my off Chez Gerard for life.

Definitely the best option for exquisite food and lovely surroundings in the West End. The happy hour offer certainly helps to start your evening in jolly good mood!

Chez Gerard definitely did not disappoint. The steak-frites and the other dishes were delicious too, and the bill was reasonable.

You can tell the restaurant is new as it's quite quiet but I can't imagine it will be for long. With a striking Champagne Bar, a cafe area and a chic restaurant, it's a bit of a treasure trove. We loved having a comfy booth in the middle where we could people watch!
