Do not eat at Chilliz! I have been a loyal customer to chlliz for many years and have always favoured them over their competitors "standard Tandori" I ordered online and my food came promptly and with a smile. I tipped the delievery man for the food which can only be described as "pig's slops". I ordered and paid for 3 poppadoms, Half of a broken one was my meagre offering. Secondly, I pulled out the naan bread (which I had paid over the odds for) & what greeted me was a sad and over done little crisp of a thing- it was about the side of a side plate. Moving my attention to the curry I considered the afore mentioned, & was curious if they had even given me the right meat. I cleaned off the sauce and "fed" some of my 'lamb' to my cat who promptly turned up his nose in disgust. (i might add here that this cat eats pretty much anything. I've seen him devour pretty much anything from Popcorn to pringles. I've even witnessed him chomp down on a water chestnut from a thai curry). Finally, as I was finishing off my yoghurt sauce I discovered a soggy remnant of a previous diners poppadom - it was not mine as the ones I had ordered had no spice to them and this unwelcome 'extra' duly left me with a hauntingly warm tingle on my tongue which has made me wholeheartedly sick to my stomach. I am so sorry that after years of loyal service I have recieved such crud dressed up as food; furthermore they had the barefaced cheek to charge me for it. "Chilliz" or "raj of India" whatever your name may be - you are an absolute disgust and should be closed down.

It was a warm evening, and so we sat out on the pavement. The service was good, and the food was good on the whole, and very good value. We had aloo puri, brinjal bhaji, tarka dhal, sabzi bhaji, peshwari naan and chapatis. The sabzi bhaji was unimaginative, but passable. The dhal and brinjal bhaji were very good. The mango lassi was excellent. Both the chapatis and the naan were good.

On the basis of the dishes we had tonight this wouldn't ever be my favourite Indian restaurant, but it was good. For the area (excluding the delights of Tower Hamlets nearby) it was very good. I've given it 3 stars, but I'd lean towards 3 1/2.

A little haven in amongst the array of mediocre places in Lauriston Village. There maybe fancier places surrounding Chilliz but you won't get better service or better food at any of them,the most fabulous friendly staff serve you really great food! A fantastic selection of interesting dishes with some great Bangladesh specialities, not just an ordinary curry house. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented. In the East End where we are not short of curry houses this is one that really stands out!
