Christophers could have been a big disappointment, located as it is smack bang in the middle of touristy theatre land. We were therefore absolutely delighted with the attentive service, delightful ambience and fabulous food that we experienced there.
The three course pre-theatre dinner menu is excellent value at under 20 pounds, and the quality of the food is excellent.
We were particularly impressed by how professional the staff were, they really are top notch.
This is a great option for a special occasion or romantic treat. Really beautiful! Will definitely be back.
Christopher's is our favourite West End resturant. We use it as pre- or post-theatre dining every time we come up to town. The set-price menu is excellent value and there is no compromise on quality. My husband often chooses the a la carte - the last time he had the scallops and as we live in Hastings he's eaten a lot of scallops in his time - but he said these were the best he's ever tasted. The service is always good - quick and unobtrusive. I can't recommend it highly enough.

It was quite simply the best steak I have ever had! Fantastic.
I was going to have the fillet steak (more regular choice) but our extremely helpful and knowledgeable waiter advised we have the “Christopher’s Special” which was good advice.
It was huge and the taste was amazing. I ate all of mine and the rest of my girlfirend’s. Great wine list too.acmiller29
I went to Christopher's a couple of weeks ago with a friend and we opted for the pre-theatre menu. The food was amazing and really well cooked.
My friend and I both ordered steak (medium rare but more rare than medium for me!) and my friend ordered it well done.
Amazingly, it came exactly as we'd both requested it. Some restaurants don't take into account what you ask for and cook it the way they think best.
Anyway, it was delicious. I had panna cotta for pudding, which again was absolutely amazing. The staff were very courteous and prompt with the service.
We lingered a little longer as we weren't going to the theatre afterwards and there was no problem with this.
It's rare to find a restaurant that serves excellent food cooked to perfection, so I enthusiastically recommend any one to try out Christopher's.
I am going again with a few more friends for my birthday!

The dining room is very pleasant and the staff were polite, if a bit difficult to attract. However, the food is extremely overrated, not to mention overpriced.
The ingredients which went into the dishes were of low quality (spotty black bits of avocado and fatty, limp bacon anyone?). The spinach salad simply failed to be interesting at all (except for the spotty black avocado, which was interesting) and the deep-fried egg it was topped with took it to the verge of unpleasant.
The burger I followed it with was fine, but certainly not worth its share of the £17.50 two-course price.
My companion ordered a "light and healthy" portion of figs and prunes - which came in a huge white bowl containing, erm, 1 fig and a couple of prunes, chopped, in maple syrup.
He then had pancakes (3 small) with "bacon" which was greasy, limp and quite frankly an insult to the pig it came from.
It was really more like ham boiled in oil. They are very cheeky to charge these prices for this quality. There are much better places in London to have brunch.
We should have known by the Covent Garden address that it would be one to avoid.
I started my evening in Christophers at the bar enjoying a drink with friends, and then joined colleagues for a meal in the restaurant later in the evening.
The service in both the bar and the restaurant was excellent, just the right level of attention and the selection of wines available in the bar kept some very fussy people happy.
The food in the restaurant was excellent the overall evening was really enjoyable.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Christophers, especially as a perfect way to start an evening at the Theatre.
A lovely surprise walking off the busy Strand for a bite to eat at 'brunchtime' -
little touches meant the most: peaceful, sunny and thoughtfully decorated room upstairs for the main restaurant, where conversation can flow without fighting to be heard over atmospheric music.
Be prepared to fill your boots with the 2 course set lunch menu!
A good mix of clientele from young professionals to families- fortunately on this occasion they were very well behaved!
It was a tight squeeze to fit the plates on our corner table for two, but the food worth a wait!
I felt fully justified cleaning my plate of both Eggs Benedict followed by a juicy burger perfectly cooked to a point before rare...If I had to vote, also served one of the best Bloody Mary's in London.
The staff were not only very polite and helpful but also watchful without being intrusive.
As soon as help was required their swift presence to the side of the table was guaranteed.
A pleasure to leave a well-deserving tip - I look forward to trying the slightly more lively bar as well on the next occasion!
