I went into Chutneys yesterday and the food was fantastic! Their portions are rather big compared to other restaurants. Their staff were friendly and courteous. I believe the other comments may relate to another restaurant as my wife and I received a rather warm welcome and not a rude one. Definelty recommend this restaurant. Emily and Andy
If I could give this restaurant no stars then I would. Good food but very, very rude staff. It wasn't even busy. I will NEVER eat there again and make the effort to tell everyone I know how rude the staff are.
We always drive past this place and always wanted to try it, food was lovely, atmosphere was nice..I do recommend it, it's a bit far from where we live but we've been here twice now and will come down again for another treat!
Having been to Chutneys several times before, I was totally disgusted today, when my Bangladeshi friend told us what the staff were saying about us. They obviously didnt realise a member of our group spoke Bangla, as after only a few moments the staff were making extremely rude sexual remarks - in Bangla. One of them commented, in no uncertain terms, on what he would like to do to another female member of our group. At this point, our Bangla-speaking colleague spoke out and launched a tirade upon the offensive member of staff. No apology was offered, no responsibility was taken for this disgusting outrage. Needless to say, we will definitely not be visiting again.
We intend to post this on as many sires as possible to warn people what they are letting themselves in for. Such a shame, as the food has always been excellent in the past.
Chutneys is our favourite restaurant! The food ia a very high quality and the service exceeds our expectations every time. The friendly team always know who we are whether we order a take a home delivery or visit their beautiful restaurant. (this may be because Chutneys is our friday ritual.) They always look after you and go the extra mile. On one visit they opened a bottle f Moet champagne to thank us for our visit. Another occasion I came in on my own picking up some food after a night out, as I am female and my other half was not at home, they offered to drive me back home. I declined, but they called me to check I got home safe. This to me is really going the extra mile. They dont just do this for us, when in the restaurant I can see that this service delivery is the same for every guest that comes through their door. If you are in the neighbourhood, you must visit and give them a try! They are awesome! Thank you Chutneys for your amazing food and fantastic service! Soraya & Dave
Had to wait a while to be seated as it was busy but worth the wait, absolutely loved the atmosphere, members of staff very friendly, food was great,
the authentic aroma and flavours have left a great impression on me and my friends and cant wait to visit Wimbledon again..5/5 guys.
Visited the Chutneys Restaurant right off the Wimbledon; a time or two and got addicted. The spices and flavours, in decent portions. and the fusion cousine they do Indian, Tandorii, Bengali, Vegetarian, Specialities... Magnificient.
Variety of their menu is a landmark of itself. All comes at good pricepoint, ambient setting with a spark, and warm, friendly service. Even not living in the area anymore I do like this one a lot, comparable to Angel Curryhouses and Brick Lane, if not better.
Was excellent for social occasions also, with friends and relatives, and perhaps best kept secret.
Having passed Chutneys over the past 3 years I finally had the opportunity to dine there with 6 friends. We were extremely disappointed at the lack of service and bad quality of food. Firstly we were very crammed even though we had booked a table a week in advance. We were allocated right next to the toilet/kitchen and having waited a while for some service we were let down as the food was warm as if it had been left to stand a long time and the "spicy food" was a great let down (no spice at all)To round off this unhappy experience the waiters promised us a bigger table next time!!!!
The food is absolutely divine, the service is so friendly and warming, i recommend Chutneys to everyone looking for a nice authentic indian meal.
Chutneys is the best Indian restaurant in Wimbledon! Food at Chutneys is superb.
