Having read the 5star review on View London we went passing the curry touts of brick lane to this small restaurant. First impression was that its small and cramp. We were sat next to the door and whenever the door opened a gush of cold air hit us. Papadoms and chutneys were really nice however the main course was a little disappointing. Its not bad but we have had far better curry in other restaurant on Brick Lane that have only 3-4 stars from view london. The wine we had asked for was bought in from outside probably from the off-license however we were charged twice the price!! Everything seemed expensive.
I went cinnamon Xmas eve with a group of friends I was recommended by a friend the place was busy had no touts outside we went for the 14.95 set dinner and the food was full of flavours it's was the best curry I had for years the service was very good I called my friend to thank him for tellin us to come here. All of us had a grate time will be back very soon
Not a good experience at all - went with a large group of friends for my birthday and certainly won't be returning. I was quoted a price of £9.95 per head when I booked but upon arrival I was told that the actual price would be £15! Obviously I queried this but was told that I must be mistaken. The food wasn't too bad (have had better on Brick Lane and elsewhere), but the bill was brought to the table before people had finished eating and the group was asked to leave as soon as the bill had been paid. Customer service - distinctly lacking.
What a terrible experience.
Rude and pushy staff, at allow no time for you to read the menu.
Naan bread that tastes like pizza, bland food that's lacks spice and flavor.
One of the people at or table tried to talk to the waiter about an issue she had with her chicken Korma ( chicken being under cooked ) and he did not want to know.
I had one waiter reach across me and drag his elbow into my food.
after we paid the £180+ bill 60 seconds later we were told to finish our drinks and vacant the table.
A Terrible terrible experience.
My friends took me to cinnamons for my birthday. The food was divine and every one enjoyed their meals. the food i ordered was cooked to my standards, was a bit spicy just the way i like it. The waiters were very helpful and i will be going back.
I went to the restaurant last night i had a great time. The food was outstanding and was delivered on time. waiters were very polite and helpful. i will definetly return back to the resturant with friends and family.
:)
I don't have any good things to say about this restaurant. Service was pretty awful. We waited for over an hour after ordering for our mains to arrive. The dishes arrived one after the other over the course of 10 minutes. The chicken in the korma was half cooked. The sauce was bland. And the Modhucash chicken (recommended on the menu) was sickeningly sweet. All the curries we ordered were missing a lot of flavor and spice. We lost our appetites and asked to speak to the manager for some kind of discount. All we wanted to do was get out of the place and enjoy the rest of our afternoon. When we explained our dissatisfaction he became defensive and a little rude. He offered to replace the chicken korma. And wait another hour? He said that "all Indian food takes especially long to cook because the spices must be cooked". He had no interest in my opinion of the food because it was "subjective". Really? In the end a complimentary bottle of wine wasn't worth wasting our time and money in this dull restaurant. There's better, and more authentic food out there.
The food was at best reasonable, however, what troubled us the most was the way we were treated. We were offered a deal at the door but later denied that deal and offered another which was not worth anything as the price of dishes were above average. Toilets were a mess and filthy.
The only good thing about this restaurant in my opinion is the chutneys that accompany the papadoms, the curry was very average and small in portion. Toilets unclean. Alcohol very pricey. Worth a try for the papadoms.
We decided to dine at Cinnamon last night after reading the 5 star review on this site. Well with all my years of experience of fine dining I would never give Cinnamon above 3stars. The seating area in the basement looks like a children's playground. The waiters hardly speak English and bought us the wrong dish. The food at best was ok. The toilets were a shamble.
This restaurant is OK at best. The general feeling lacks warmth and the touters constantly opening the front door of this small restaurant made it even more uneasy. overall the food is OK but a little stodgy. For a good night out head for one of the bigger restaurants with no touts to disturb the peace.
Food was ok nothing special just lacked a little salt and flavour. Service terrible. Waiters hardly speak english and are very rude.
Amazeing food, all my friends and their kids loved the food, waiters wer polite and verry helpful, will reccomend to all.
Having been to Brick Lane several times over the years I have a pretty good experience of what good curry taste like. The curry on offer at the Cinnamon lacks seasoning and taste. We ordered a total of 4 dishes and 2 sides amongst 3 of us. ALL the dishes lack flavour, taste and smell. It seemed like we were having a mish mash of something! Other surrounding tables complained about the same. In all there are far better restaurants in Brick Lane.
Went there last friday, well what can I say, the food was amazing. We usually go to the shriaz.
I don't think i'll go anywhere else on Brick Lane again. The food was that good. The service was not bad either, the waiters actually speak english and the food came quickly.
They also gave us a beer each on the house - thats the festive spirit!I can't recommend this more to anyone, the food is so so good. I would recommend
