My boyfriend surprised me with a dinner at Citrus, and I had a lovely evening! It was on a Monday, so it wasn't particularly busy, so we got the table at the window.
The service was great, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The food was really nice, simple dishes with great flavours. We ordered the bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, which was lovely with the lamb hotpot that I ordered.
What I liked best about the place was that it was very classy but not too uptight at the same time, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
The only thing I have to remark is that the wallpaper is rather odd, and the tables are very large so I felt I was sitting rather far away from my man (so no leaning in for a little kiss!).

That being said, I would recommend Citrus for a nice, relaxed evening with good food.

I had a meal in citrus a few days ago, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Fantastic food, uncomplicated and very well cooked with some surprisingly delicious combinations. i especially enjoyed the calves liver main course, the bitterness of the trevise worked really well with the sweeter sauce!
Friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere.

As a Chef, on a night off you dream about restaurants like Citrus. Simple, elegant and unfussy food, in nice surroundings with well priced vinos and attentive, well trained staff. Andrew Bennett and his team produce really good food with no frills, good bread and you aren't left with a crater in your wallet at Citrus.
For a great dinner without the pomp, I would recommend Citrus anytime.
