Hadn't been to Clause before but a few people had recommended it so I thought I'd give it a try. Went with a mixed group 3 girls, 3 boys straight from the office on a Friday night. By 6pm it was really busy, all the staff were great and bubbly, the cocktails were 2-4-1 until 8pm and the food platters were really good quality for the price. Good music and not small like other basement bars which can be stuffy and uncomfortable. Can't wait to visit again soon and try the rest of the cocktails on the list.

Visited Clause Bar recently and just had to write a review. Having been getting somewhat tired of the same city bars me and my work buddies frequently eat and drink at, this hidden gem was a breath of fresh air. Nice friendly staff and a clean bright bar. We went for lunch and had a great meal, reasonably priced and very tasty. We then went back on the friday for happy hour and had the sharing platters which between our group went down a treat - really fresh. The cocktails were delicious and I am pleased to say not watered down. The music was really good and a great atmosphere. Overall fab experience, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we have reserved an area for this friday :-)

I never get my complimentary drinks and have been overcharge for my preorder!

Me and a group of friends went to Clause Bar for the first time last friday for our friends birthday drinks. We had a amazing time they have happy hour from 5-8 which is great! We had some lovely cocktails and some nice wine. They also gave us a bottle of bubbly on the house for our group which was great! We ordered a sharing platter which was really nice. The bar was busy and had a nice nice crowd of people. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff we will be going back for the city life night in 2 weeks cant wait!

Went for lunch at Clause today and had an amazing burger with brioche bun very nice and tasty. I have to say my friends also enjoyed the curry and the fish finger sandwich with poached egg from the Express lunch menu. Food quality and presentation has definitely improved at Clause.Service was great as always. Will be back soon....

I have been to Clause a few times and have come away feeling quite unimpressed. Visited for a friend's birthday at the end of November on a Friday night. Wine was half price which seemed like a good deal so we chose a wine a couple above the house wine in terms of price (c.£20). It was really awful wine. For half price I guess we couldn't complain but if I had paid the full price I would have sent it back. They then proceeded to tell us we had to leave (when we had full bottles of said horrible wine) because there was a private party coming in at 10. There had been no mention of this when my friend booked the table, or on the door as we came in. In the end they kicked most people out and let us stay but by that point we were sick of the service so left.

They recently emailed round a free lunch voucher to celebrate the launch of a new lunch menu. I thought I would give them another try, particularly as it was free! After ordering our meals we were told we needed one voucher per person and not one per booking. The wording was very unclear on the voucher and there was no redemption code or personal details on it so I couldn't see the reason why they needed 2 copies of the exact same voucher. I explained my interpretation but they insisted that I pay for one of the meals. I had already ordered drinks etc so couldn't leave at this point.

I won't be going back to Clause. There are nicer bars in the City with better customer service!

Went at Clause on Thursday 5th of April for the City Life event and I absolutely enjoyed myself, great music, fantastic atmosphere and the service was spot on, great venue....

Looking forward to the next one...

Went to Clause last Thursday with friends for sharing platters and cocktails after work. Had such a good time and the atmosphere was great. Friendly and quick waitress table service and good food at very resaonable prices. Looking forward to next time already. Thank you Clause Bar.

I was at Clause last Friday night and I have to say that me and my friends we had an amazing time, really good drinks and deals on the happy hour, 2-4-1 on cocktails! good music, great atmosphere, and the red hair waitress was really attentive and Lovely!

Amazing lunch menu and very affordable. Perfect for a quick bite and a very decent bottle of wine over lunch with friends and colleagues. Very attentive staff and good offers all the time. Definitely try the Fish and Chips with a chilled bottle of white wine to brighten up any day of the week. Manager on the door was very charming and although we had to wait a 5 minutes for the table to be turned around (it was a busy Thursday), we had a quick coctail at the bar while we waited. Super value and a lovely venue for day and night.

Its so good to see Clause still on top of their game.

Never thought there would be a fabulous place for lunch in this little alleyway of east cheap, really good value for money great food and OK wine. I'll defo be back.

I was in Clause Bar last Thursday, and the staff was really friendly and helpful to the point that I didn't want to leave :), the atmosphere was great, food was amazing. The overall experience was fantastic, definitely going back soon.

Went at Clause bar for lunch last Thursday, and the bar looked amazing. We were very well looked after, lunch specials options were great, good value for money overall and service was smooth and friendly. Thumbs up from greeting food quality, service standards to farewell. Great venue....very cozy,.

Took a few friends here for a few drinks and ended up staying pretty much all night, bar staff was great, a really hot candy shot girl and in the meanti'me I had this bird in white offering me a massage. Wow, for sure im coming back, great way to end the week at the office!

fantastic venue, the team are a delight... came in for lunch with a client and everything was absolutely fantastic, will definitely come in again. must try their fish and chips! ... more like a wale and chips!

Came in for lunch, they do specials for £5.50 which are tremendous value for money. Friendly service and beautiful venue. Food was lovely and did not take long at all to come out. Will be back!

cool place, they really surprised me with free champagne bottle. I really like there,sexy manager Saul:) and friendly waitresses, I love happy hour at Clause, almost everything half price, but one thing is really annoying ,sometimes is really difficult to get the table, especially at Friday..

The service was outstanding. I can't wait to come again. A satisfied costumer.

Wicked bar, wicked staff, SUPER cocktails - spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME. in this bar! Had my birthday drinks there last week and we were so well looked after! Evening platters with happy hour always a winner.

this bar is a definitely a great destination bar especially in the city, great feel to the place, music is really good and Friday nights is a great time to visit.

Had lunch yesterday and what a great £5.50 Main course dishes to choose from. Go on Goan Chicken Curry.

Clause has great decor and atmosphere. I had lunch with my co workers and we all agreed that this maybe great place but for drinks only.
I had salmon dish which wasn't cooked all the way and the potatoes were hard. The plate was nicely presented but the amount oil that was pour over the whole thing was huge. It overpowered everything and all you tasted was oil.
One of my co worker's salad was lettuce, with some squid in what tasted like store bough sweet chili. Not very impressive.
After lunch many of us had espresso which were so watery that they tasted more like brown water than espresso.
The service was nice and polite but took ages for everything and the place wasn't even packed.
Overall, i won't be eating there again but because of it's great decor and atmosphere, i just might give it a try for a cocktail.

first of all, clause bar is up there with the best city bars!
I've been here recently with my team and had a great night out! food and drink were on happy hour and great value for money, the bar staff are very hard workers and they made sure we had an amazing experience.

Was in Clause the other night for my friend's leaving drinks, great night, food was good, if you like cheese they do a massive medittereneon platter, under a £10, their new menu is really good plus they have a new DJ, real nice guy DJ SOL, well done mate, the music was awesome, real funky house, RNB and the tunes you would like to hear on a night out! great memories!

I totally recommend this bar for private hire, I'm a regular and suggested my friend to have his birthday party here and he hired it out on friday and it was such great service, the cocktails were deliciouse and the food, Well...! it was amazing, Thank you clause!

I know it seems like everyone is is raving about the fantastic staff, amazing cocktails and cheap tasty food. I was in for lunch today and I highly recommend you pay Clause a visit for lunch this week, the food menu is soooooooooooooo cheap, loads of selection than usual and(again) yummy.

I was at clause last night and it was pretty lively for a wednesday night. Fantastic value for money, and the staff were great. I highly recommend the sake martini.

Clause has a great happy hour deal and the friendliest staff in the city.
The tapas & cocktails were very good too.
Definately coming this Thursday again!

Love Clause! The staff is super friendly and the deals with the happy hour are unbelievable.
The crowd looks good and it is a guarantee good night out!
