Bad quality of food.
Sushi does not taste fresh.
Dumplings tasted like it is from frozen package.
Miso soup was too salty and not hot enough.
Slow and grumpy waitresses (even when they speak Japanese).

Later, I found out from someone who used to work there that the owner buys really old rice (and old rice sometimes smells) so its cheap. They don't use new rice of that year, which is unacceptable for a Japanese restaurant! I was disgusted to hear this.

Don't go there.

To sum it up in two words: a disappointment. The service was incredibly slow, even though the restaurant was almost entirely empty (there was one other table of customers). Someone came to take my order 10 minutes after I was taken to my seat with menus, and this was only after I got a waiter's attention. The food arrived incredibly late. Even if the restaurant had been busy with all tables full, it would have been unacceptably slow. Imagine my frustration that the restaurant was empty and I had to wait 20 minutes for my food. Finally, the unagi don arrived. The eel was overcooked: The texture suggested it had been reheated in the microwave rather than cooked upon ordering, and the rice was far too wet and soft. Overall, inattentive and slow service, poor quality food that was probably reheated in a microwave (which begs the question of why my food took so long to arrive). Will certainly not be returning to Cocoro.

We visited Cocoro with my gf for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night. We where greeted kindly at the door, but that is where praise ends.

First we where given only the drinks menus and after several minutes of trying to get the waitresses attention I was given only a blank look and no explanation when I asked for the food menu.

We ordered a sushi assortment to share for starters and for mains my gf had the grilled eel with rice and clear soup and I had the pork dumplings.

The food took very long to arrive and when it finally came the sushi assortment was served at the same time as the eel. When the waiter served the sushi I accidently dropped a chopstick on the floor.

The waiter noticed it and he said he would bring me a new one. Soon the waiter was taking orders and serving drinks while I was left waiting for my chopsticks. I got new chopstick only after I reminded another waiter.

The sushi was far from fresh and while some pieces where loaded with wasabi others lacked it completely. The eel was soggy and seemed reheated. After my gf had finished her eel I was left to wait for 20 minutes before I got my dumplings.

The dumplings were lukewarm and tasteless. After I had finished my dumplings we ordered the bill, which took another 20 minutes to arrive. We had to remind the waiters twice to bring our bill and when it finally arrived it was merely passed on the table with out the quickest glance or apology.

We wanted to bay the bill by card but it took so long for them to come with the machine we decided to pay with cash. When I told the waitress we wouldn’t be paying the discretionary service charge I was given the same blank look after which she turned away and said nothing.

Later she came and took the cash again without saying anything. The staff was extremely unprofessional, unorganized and had no manners. The food was mediocre.

The whole ordeal which was mea

The best Japanese restaurant in the city. The food is out of this world and it is extremly healthy to boot.
