I would like to thankyou on behalf the Brookwood Club for the delivery of pie,mash liquor and eels we had a really good night and everyone thoughly enjoy their meal thanks again Sandie Richards (Stewardess)

We visited Cooke's just before Christmas 2011 for my Mother in laws
90th birthday as this was what she wanted to do.

I have to say that Mike and his staff were absolutely fantastic and really looked after us well.

The food was every bit as good as I remembered from my previous visits as a teenager.

I also got to sit in Ray Winstone's seat from Quadrophenia which also made my day!

My Mother in law is still talking about it which is an achievement as she suffers from Alzheimer's.

I have no hesitation in recommending Cookes and cannot praise Mike and his staff highly enough.

It's 5 stars from me.

Mick Cook, has the best pie and mash in london. been going all my life there (46) keep it up mate .

I was brought up on pie and mash,i used to go and get it for my nan and had to take a milk bottle to put the liquor in and take your own containers for the mash,used to cost a shilling,i still go to the bush every so often for pie and mash loooooooooooovely

As a child of the 70's, me Nan used to take me nearly every Saturday to Shepherds Bush Market and then for lunch at Cookes Pie and Mash Shop. The smell was, and still is, amazing.


Twenty-five years on and I still remember exactly what Cookes Pie and Mash Shop looked like. I still eat pie and mash now, you have to have it with the liquor and a splash of vinegar.

i would say it is 5 stars

ever since i was a kid iwould go with my mum she would always leave a bit for me

i now live in norfolk and still enjoy my pie and mash its the best
