With a sister branch at Chalk Farm, this Caribbean addition to Clerkenwell draws in a crowd that love food as much as they love to drink.

The Venue
Divided by a window pane into a bar and restaurant, Cottons is slick and sexy yet warm and welcoming at the same time. Lush terracotta walls combined with a russet wooden bar and chocolate leather seating make the place ooze with laid-back character while big leafy pot plants are dolled-up with fairy lights.

The Atmosphere
Cosy and inviting, the mood at Cottons is chilled out and comfortable. It’s sophisticated cool without being pretentious or hollow.

The Food
Sweet fruity flavours dominate the Caribbean menu with an assortment of rice accompaniments. King prawns, jerked pork ribs and Creole seafood meze are on offer for starters. Mains include curried goat, marinated duck breast and lamb with sweet potato and vanilla mash. For lunch, have a pick and mix feast with the Caribbean tapas.

The Drink
Keeping to its roots, this West Indian haunt loves its rum and fruity cocktails and there’s a mixture to please every palette.

The Last Word
Cottons is a restaurant that likes to party, it not only has its own bar area but a basement bar as well that goes by the name of the Rhum Jungle. Go for dinner and stay for the revelry.
