came here for pancake day very patronising staff, very unfriendly atmosphere and some cant even talk adequate english.
very small and cramped.
i disliked the food, plastic, terrible and too expensive for something so awful. when trying to put it in a takeaway, they did not offer me a bag and rudely told me to go away.
a place to avoid, a terrible experience.
i would like to give this place a 0 star, avoid at all costs

I visited Creme de la Crepe in Co-vent Garden with some friends at 11am on a weekday but it was closed, the website states they open 11-7pm on Mon-Fri. A staff member outside had told us they would be opening 11.45 so we browsed shops in the area until they opened. We returned 12pm but the store was still closed even though all the other shops in Covent Garden Piazza had opened at least an hour earlier.

It seems the staff/owners dont really care about customer service, will not visit in future.

Newmuzik, I am so sorry that you had a poor experience. It is always terrible to hear. We had some severe problems (out of the blue) with our equipment over the christmas period which meant on certain days we were unable to open on time. If you email enquiries@cremedelacrepe. Co. Uk for the attention of Nick, we would love to organise a free meal for you and one other to apologise for your inconvenience. Sorry again, All the best, Creme de la Crepe

crepes not made by hand, but then i guess not many things are any more!

the menu was extensive and the crepes tasted great.

staff were busy but still took their time with us (made a difference)! and the atmosphere was cosy yet bustling.

i would like to come on a weekday when maybe less busy but on the whole we had a really tasty eat.

Looks nice, the place, we thought, so we went in.
The selection is good, some savoury and sweet crepes and smoothies!
The mains came and we were rather disappointed.
If you expect the good old French art of crepe being made on a heated disc, you are wrong. They are pre-made and warmed up by some robot machine that makes the long parcels extremely chewy and difficult to cut.
The staff was disorganised and not really friendly. They were more interested in chatting than serving us....
The desert was alright, but somehow the 'wow' was missing. Nothing special about this place which has such great potential! I remember it being a jewellery shop and like what they did with the interiors. Rather relaxed, but serving the smoothies in Mc Donald's style plastic cups was without any style.
The cutlery is old and scratched, but the plates are fun (each one is individual).
Somehow attention to detail is missing here. Shame.....because we won't be coming back.

Lovely little place. Immaculate and friendly staff producing some delicious crepes...

Not quite sure why Keith is so against the place, to be honest*. Everyone I've spoken to has been impressed.

Definitely worth stopping in. You can always opt for a smoothie and a salad if you're doing the January healthy drive...

I'll be going back definitely.

*Although considering he's cut and pasted the same scathing review to quite a few websites and on each one, every other review is complimentary, I'd assume his opinion is pretty worthless.

I was drawn in by the smell of sizzling butter and the smart looking décor. Shame about the machine made crepes, reheated by the less than inspiring staff.

I ordered a simple cheese and ham crepe with mustard, and was amazed at how badly it turned out. The actual crepes were made by a machine, which are then left in a pile on the side to cool and go soggy. The staff peeled off the cold, soggy pre-made crepes from the pile and reheated it on the iron with lots of butter to which ingredients were clumsily thrown in. The result was a thick, soggy utter waste of money in your hands.

It is true that the skill of making good crepe cannot be replaced by the ‘fast food’ approach of process and marketing. Having eaten at more traditional creperies in London I would gladly pay a few more quid for the real thing.
