Crussh is undoubtedly the market leader in London smoothie shops and it caters for all the demands of the healthiest eaters.

The Venue
It’s on the corner of Fleet Street and Farringdon Street, and although the venue is quite small, the staff do manage to serve very quickly and clear the queues. It has seating around the shop but it’s quite cramped to spend any time there.

The Atmosphere
Crussh is a very busy juice bar with bright orange boards offering you smoothies, boosters, super boosters, and juice combos. It’s the perfect venue for a hangover cure or as a watering hole for the more virtuous Londoners, with 22 variations of juices.

The Food
The porridge is hugely popular for City workers in the morning. It’s not thick and sickly as you’d expect and if you’re trying to lose some pounds it can fill you up for hours. They also do the best muesli - the breakfast berry granola is probably better than you would get in a packet from the supermarket.

For lunchtime, the sushi doesn’t fail to impress. Compared to some of the sushi you get in the other major chains in the area, it’s remarkably free of the plastic takeaway taste and is delicious. The comforting chilli chicken soup is a regular staple at Crussh and is a firm favourite with those that know about it. If you need a filling soup, try the Hungarian goulash. It is very warming for the winter, although because it’s so thick you may need at least 20 minutes to finish it. The crayfish salad is surprisingly delicious, in no small part due to the tasty dressing that comes with it.

The Drink
Costing between £2.00 and just under £4.00, the range of drinks on offer makes Crussh a popular venue. Thankfully they’re freshly made and not pre-produced so you can guarantee the freshness. In these days of being urged to have five portions a day and with busy lifestyles, the range of drinks can stop you getting bored. The fat-burner smoothie, with blueberries, red berries, banana and apple juice, probably won’t noticeably burn off any fat, but it feels healthy and hits the spot although if there are too many berries in there it can taste just too sweet and sickly. The Brazilian doesn’t do what it says on the tin either - or you’d be in a bit of pain. But it is refreshingly exciting with paw paw, banana, and apple juice. If you want to be perked up in the morning try the Bananarama with honey, it’s quite light and you don’t really want to start the day with a mouthful of sugar.

The Last Word
Crussh’s comprehensive menu means you won’t get bored if you’re a regular.
