Still maintain Original and many things improve to be better.

Ben's Thai has greatly improved over the last year. The chefs are on the ball and the food has definitely improved. The service at Ben's Thai is always a bit perfunctory, but for the price and the location, it really is excellent. I'd recommend it. The panaeng is very good.

I'm a local and have enjoyed the food at Ben's Thai on numerous occasions. The menu is good and the standard of food is usually high although portions tend to be on the small side and aren't that cheap. Recently I ate there with some friends and the service was very poor, verging on rude. We sent back two mains because they were cold, no apologies were offered by the staff, the meals took a further 10 minutes to reappear. In general the best word to describe the staff is surly. There was a 12.5% service charge on our bill which we decided not to pay. We tried to complain to the manageress but she was too busy to see us. We eventually caught her on our way out and told her of our experience, and were told that if we didn't like it then we didn't have to eat there. Who says service is dead?

Cheap Thai food above a pub, Ben's Thai is really cool if you want to eat out but can't afford the cloth napkin/crystal glasses experience. Ben's do lots of tasty, spicy dishes - great for exotic palates.
