This is probably one of my favourite restaurants as of now. Its got mouthwatering food with toned spiced levels to meet the customer's requirement. I love the Vada pav and the Paav bhaji. I went there with a couple of friends and had lovely time. The food was served really quickly and was hot (as per the usual Indian standards). I will definitely recommend this place. It can get quite crowded in the evenings even though its a huge place (with ground floor and basement).

Average at best! I had heard great things about Dishoom and my expectations were high. Being a vegetarian, I would say the food was average to below average. It turns out that the reputation is based on how well they do meat.
The decor worked really well but the few framed photos on the wall were the only tell-tale signs that it was an Indian restaurant. That said it was a great ambiance even for Sunday brunch.

Went to Dishoom for the 2nd time this morning. The premise and concept are good but a few things need to be looked at. The guy who greeted us at the door was not very curt and bordering on rude though the other staff were good.

However being an Indian cafe restaurant I feel the waiters should be Indian as this would bring a more authentic feel to the place and they could explain the dishes ans spices used far better.

The other gripe I would have is that the entire left hand column of the menu is only available until 1pm on a weekend and I feel this should be extended to 3pm as they were some tasty sounding items on there which we could not order.

Overall decent fare but needs to improve.

I went to Dishoom on Tuesday night last week and it was absolutely buzzing. I was incredibly impressed by the highly attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They really knew their menu and gave me great recommendations.
The decor is great (although I would like them to move the bulbs that hang over the tables up by about a foot, as my date's head was obscured by one!) and really stylish and the food is amazing! Every single thing we ate was fabulous, tasty and well presented and great value for money. It's also lovely to have Indian food that is a little bit different from the usual Korma and the tapas style is brilliant because you get to try out lots of dishes without breaking the bank! Standouts for me were the grilled prawns, black dhal and the gorgeous mango icey pudding.
I've already recommended this place to everyone I know. Go!

I never write reviews but had such a great meal here that I felt I should let everyone else know. Super service and food mean I will be returning soon. The decor is fab and triggered lots of nostalgic moments (the bindis on the mirrors in the ladies toilets really made me smile)!

I went to this place last night and was pleasantly surprised, not least for the 50% they knocked off our food bill but because they had decorated the restaurant with really cool Indian paraphernalia. The restaurant was clean and new and the atmosphere was vibrant.
The menu wasn't exactly what we had expected, it's not a traditional curry house if that's what you're looking for. They have mostly small dishes quite like Indian Tapas. They only have one curry of the day aptly called 'The Ruby Murry' which has a veggie version. All of the food we tried was very nice especially the black daal and the calamari. The breads were fantastic as they are freshly made but unfortunately what they don't tell you before you order the food is that all the things you order come at different times. This was a little annoying as our bread came last so we were having to hang on to the daal so that we had something to eat it with. Also they didn't tell us how many dishes we should order each so that we would have enough between us. Over all though the food was good the service was very friendly and the a special tip for dessert.. the chocolate fondant cake with ice-cream... Yum! I'd go there again just for that!
