A very very poor experience. My family have been going to Diwana for over 30 years. I hadn't been for 4-5 years because of previous bad experiences but thought I would try again today.

It was awful. The decor is bad. The tables and seats are cramped and uncomfortable. The toilets are a sex-offender's paradise with no privacy and not to mention the fact that they're broken and filthy.

The food is totally bland (and no longer particularly cheap). But the worst thing about Diwana is the service (or lack of it). People swipe at your plates to get you out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. The waiter even said to me as I was hunting for my credit card "can you hurry up, I have a queue of people outside". Rude and insulting.

Do yourselves a favour - don't go to this restaurant. I shan't be going again (ever).

I had a bad experience in Diwana. My friends and I went to the restaurant, with seats reserved. They split us into two groups because of the table couldn't accommodate us. Fair enough but when I made reservation over the phone, I was promised they could seat us all in one table. This is not about being petty. This is about integrity and clearly Diwana didn't demonstrate that.

We too left because the staff were not only rude, they made us feel unwelcomed and as if they paid us to be there! Even if they did, a little bit of respect wouldn't hurt! We're people, not animals.

As for the food, we didn't get to eat in the end. We heard it was okay. We left for nearby Ravi Shankar Restaurant which was just two doors away. We loved the place. The food was good, staff were friendly and most importantly, they sat us in one table!

For Diwana, Not recommended!

I would term the service as appauling and completely disgusting. I went there along with my husband on my birthday and it was one that i will never forget but for all the wrong reasons. After entering we stodd at the door without being attended to for almost 7-8 minutes. When we were shown to a table that we dint want, we were very rudely taken to another table. After ordering the starters and mains, we were served very swiftly but with food that tasted quite bland. I am Indian and can vouch that the food is far from authentic and completely tasteless. Hardly had we finished the mains, were presented with the bill, without asking for it. Neither were we asked if we would like desserts. When questioned about why we were not informed about the closing of that section, staff rudely said we could shift if we wanted or else leave the restaurant! I have never experienced more humiliation and would never go back or allow anyone i know to visit the restaurant.
Bad food and terribly arrogant, inhospitable staff.

Had the worst service one could think of at Diwana Bhe Pori House. In fact, when went for snacks and tea they refused to let us in (there were few people).

When we wanted to speak with the manager they said they didn't have any. I don't think I will go there for a long time. In fact, I would like to write about them to the restaurant guides to get them delisted.

Diwana Bhel Poori House serves good food, but they have an absolutely outrageous service policy. They charge an obligatory 10% service charge, which they then tell you is for the senior management, and then have the cheek to ask for another tip for the actual service!

I like to tip the waiters, but I won't be cajoled into paying for service twice at Diwana Bhel Poori House! I won't be returning.

Who doesn’t love a good curry? No-one, exactly. And that’s why you should hot foot it down to Diwana. Yummy Indian food, make no mistake. Diwana – a good choice.

Diwana Bhel Poori House is quite a good place with a wide variety of Indian vegetarian food, quite tasty and unusual. Quite crowded so make sure you come early.
