Went with my family after a days shopping. Went in and the place seemed nice enough, however it was downhill from there. In La
Dolce Vita, we asked for tap water for the two girls, this is by law acceptable, however the waitress looked at us stunned and kept replying "No, we don't have tap water", after I asked once more for it she took our glasses away and didn't come back.
Unfortunately we were starving and decided to order anyway, the food was fine, however the service was awful, and the staff where quite cheeky to customers that came in who eventually left. They also put down the 10% service charge which we shouldn't have paid but did so anyway as we were in a hurry to see a show.
If we had not been so rushed/hungry we would have left, the food was fine but the service/atmosphere left a horrible taste which let the whole place down.
I would recommend NO ONE go to this place. I am always suspicious of these bad reviews but I had to review it as it is the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
My advice is go to another restaurant -
Carol
Easily the worst restaurant I have visited in London.
We didnt book, but it wasnt the kind of restaurant that you needed to..however when greeted at the door to be seated we were presented with a grunt and told to wait. Nothing else just the word wait.
We were seated with little enthusiasm and all staff we came into contact with were miserable and unfriendly.
After ordering drinks, of which one needed to be sent back due to the filthy cup, with no sorry or eye contact the waitress took the cup and bought over another again with no apology or eye contact. We then spotted a couple complaining about their food only for the chef to shout the customer down and be told to eat their food.
We ordered pizza at the overpriced cost of £11.25 thinking they couldnt go wrong..the pizza was pre made and very bland. I asked what beers they did as they didnt give us a drinks menu, or tell us what drinks they did. I was told, we do one beer, Moretti. The waitress then starred at me until I said yes please.
One of the pizzas was inedibale. We asked for the bill, which came without a smile or any eye contact.
We asked for the service charge to be taken off (for obvious reasons) the manager then stormed over to us demanding that we pay or he would call the police. After informing him that service charge is optional, especially considering the shoody service we'd had. He told us if we didnt pay the police would come and we were on CCTV.
We stood our ground and didnt pay the service charge. To then quickly leave without as much as an apology.
NEVER AGAIN.
Dolce Vita are masters at Italian food. The wine just slips down the throat and the pasta is just divine. Grab some Dolce Vita for dinner!
Dolce Vita has suddenly become very popular (and deservedly so!) Was slightly annoyed though as it's one of my favourite Italian places and I had wanted to keep it as my little secret!
Nonetheless, even when busy the food remains good and the staff lovely. Keep it up Dolce Vita!
