We ended up in the Ebury Street Wine Bar as Thomas Cubbit was full, but I had only heard good things about the place, so I was looking forward to it. The inside was cosy and welcoming. However I won't go any further on the food, I woke up the next day with food poisoning, and was really ill for two days. The main courses did arrive very quickly, and that's not normally a good sign, the food appeared good, and the portion sizes were good, but none of that counts if you are being poisoned.

I am contacting the restaurant to let them know, as I believe it's only fair to feedback, but I wouldn't want anyone else to experiene the weekend I just did.

Went there for Sunday lunch. Whilst the waitresses were nice and provided good service, the food was disappointing. When something is edible yet far from mouth-watering, and you think you could have cooked higher quality food at home, you wonder why you even bothered. If it had only ended there, you can put it down to a bad experience that you won't repeat again in a hurry. By early evening, I was feeling acute pains in my stomach and was violently sick ten or so times over the nine hours that followed. Had to call in sick to work, rearranged several meetings, and spent all day in bed recovering. My wife emailed the Ebury to let them know and still heard nothing back 12 hours later. It looks like I am not the only person to have had foot poisoning from this place!

Nice enough setting, but food very average and overpriced. Main course consisted of minute amount of lamb and very oily aubergine.

I could cook better myself! Bill came to around 40 pounds a head and we weren't even full.

Would only go again if someone else was paying!

Ebury Wine Bar is a remarkable little find! My meal was simply delicious, and I think London's best critic would struggle to fault the food at this cosy Belgravia establishment!

The sevice at Ebury Wine Bar was extremely friendly and the atmosphere charming - mainly due to the wonderfuly unique decor and stylish Christmas decorations. I'd recommend this fine establishment for any occasion.

You can be sure that if it's for a special event you've picked the perfect place for a memorable meal! Simply fantastic. My only criticism is that I didn't like the bar man's tie - that's how hard I had to look to fault Ebury Wine Bar!

The Ebury's location seems to be its highlight, the food was very average and we were rewarded with a hefty bill accompanying a 'complimentary' service charge of 12%, even though the service was 5% at best. The starters were bearable but expensive and the main course was dire - thin steak, over cooked and tasteless, the same applied for the lamb. The chips were on the wrong side of ok but the sausages were good. Not a place to impress anyone; apart from gullible tourists who have turned the wrong way out of Victoria station.
Advice - Grab a sandwich!
