Not a great start when the waitress got my drinks order wrong.
My steak was reasonably tasty although a touch undercooked.
I thought I'd give the dish with cheese and ham on top a go. Having paid nearly £20 for just that dish I would expect better than a slice of cheap, processed ham and non-descript cheddar.
The chips, at £4 a bowl, were blatantly not hand-cut; more like freezer bag finest.
I shall not be returning in a hurry.

No frills - just a very tasty steak, simple if not slightly cramped setting and the staff were helpful once prompted. The Argentinian sausage starter was the best I have had for years and the steak was simply delightful. I had sirloin (I think) even though I asked for rump. Portion wasn't massive, slightly disappointed, but overall I enjoyed it

paid £30.......Would go back for sure.

went to eat there last weekend, the kitchen staff didn't have a clue, steaks came, then 15 minutes later the chips and 5 minutes later the fried egg. Chef and his staff were useless. Waiting staff very attentive and apologetic about bad kitchen staff, won't go there again.

The steak (Lomo) was FANSTASTIC!!! The price you pay for the meal is not bad at all, considering is one of the best steaks I've eaten... Even better than the ones I've had in Buenos Aires itself!
Service is good as well, very nice girls, friendly and helpful.
Nice atmosphere, good food, good music, nothing to complain! If you like steak, a good one, it's a must, and you won't have to pay £60 like in Gaucho's Grill. It's more like £20-£30.

This used to be one of my favourite London restaurants but not anymore. On my last visit, there was atrocious service from the head waitress down to the most junior member of staff.

We even had the manager tapping on her watch asking us to leave as soon as we had finished eating and demanding payment. None of the staff spoke good enough English in order to understand our complaints and dissatisfaction with the service. The food is good but it's not worth the frustrating experience.

As two carnivores we had a great meal at El Gaucho. Don't be put off by the Argentinian wine list. We had a couple of bottles of something far better than you'll find in a supermarket. The nearly £100 bill was about half drinks and good value.

The waitress at El Gaucho was a bit brusque at first, maybe because the place was full on a Sunday night.

The fillet was good if not quite as blue as it could have been, but my sirloin was spot on. Our four portions of veg were all good. I had the main course gambas for a starter, ideal to get the taste buds going. (Didn't have lunch that day!)

If you don’t like El Gaucho you must be mental. El Gaucho do some of the best food I have ever tasted. And I don’t lie – I’m a copper.

What a find! El Gaucho is a very authentic Argentinian restaurant with a great selection of dishes - the steak is impeccable, is about the size of a house brick, and very reasonably priced.
Cosy interior, Quilmes beer on offer...perfect for those cold autumn evenings.
