I was recommended this place for brilliant Spanish/Portuguese food, and it surpassed my expectations.

The restaurant, in Hoxton, is coolly modern/minimal but the use of a lot of wood keeps the interior inviting and the leather booth seats were very comfortable.

The owners cook Spanish/Portuguese food which is also inspired by the cooking during their upbringing in Mozambique, we recognised classic dishes such as bacalao (salt cod) which would be tweaked with a coriander garnish and a chickpea puree.

Service was very friendly and prompt, the maitre d came over to chat to us and tell us more about the food.

My seafood salad starter with little capers and more coriander was absolutely delicious, tasting of the sea and my partner's asparagus with a romesco sauce was also simple, authentic and tasty.

He also had roast lamb which was very tender and well-cooked.

We shared a bitter almond ice cream that was as delicious as everything else and a bottle of wine; the bill came to about £100 for two which we felt was very reasonable considering the quality of the cooking.

This will join a short list of great restaurants I'd be happy to go to time and time again, like St John's and Moro.

my partner and I wanted to celebrate our 3 years anniversary and decided to go to this-what we though-would be a lovely Spanish restaurant only to find that the service was non existent due to a party on the other side of the restaurant. we was told about the specials by one waiter and was sadly disappointed to see a poor selection of "Tapas" on the menu and even more disappointed to then be told if we wanted specials we should of told them this the day before. We settled for crispy duck and roasted vegetables with potatoes, sounded lovely. we then waited for 40mins filling up on olives and bread, for our starters, we devoured them and waited a further 30mins for our main course, which we was disgusted to see was ham and a few cold potatoes and vegetables!! we was charged £12 service and our total bill came to £129. We had a terrible experience and if it hadn't of been for the champaign which mildly made the food taste better, would have been a ruined anniversary, i would definatley not recommend this restaurant unless you want a couple of drinks before you move on to your destination or need to use the toilet.
