Very overpriced for very small portions of basic bland food-a small portion of rice £5, humous £6.00. I know it's in Mayfair but still. The staff spent a lot of the time standing round and didn't look that impressed with us asking for a jug of water for the table. They gave us 1/2 a small glass each & didn't return with the jug. I've had much better middle eastern food for cheaper elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I ate an extremely mediocre meal at Fakhreldine last night. The first of our disappointments was the Falafel starter - it was rock solid on the outside, extremely dry on the inside and severely lacking any kind of flavour. I have never tasted anything so undeserving of its hefty price-tag. After a prolonged wait of 25 minutes, our main courses arrived, with no apology for the long wait or warning of this beforehand.

The Musakaa arrived as a pile of slop on a plate juxtaposed with a small mountain of rice. The slop contained just three small pieces of meat covered in fat. Highly unappetising and an extremely heavy meal.

The Shish Taouk (grilled marinated chicken cubes) was also poor. Although the chicken was tender with a welcoming gentle flavour, I am surprised the dish was listed under the Mains. A large plate lacking coverage, with three sorry looking skewers and not a lot else was just not worth £19.50 - I am disgusted that they would charge so much for this hugely bare, dissatisfying dish!

Also - £4.50 for the Rose Lemonade which may as well be re-named as Glass of Pink Crushed Ice.

The restaurant itself looks lavish on the inside, and if you have a window seat you get a great view a busy London street down below. However, the location and views really aren't enough when the food is just so dire.

Unfortunately the service was absolutely embarrassing. For what is supposed to be a good quality restaurant it was laughable. First we were squeezed into a table practically sitting on someone else's lap where we had to push the tables together so you could squeeze in, then the main courses came out before we had even started the starters (we sent them back), when the main courses came out again they put them on our table around our dirty starter plates! I ordered the same glass of wine 3 times before it arrived. The starters were really tasty, cocktails good but main course was dry and without flavour (possibly because it had been kept warm for 30 mins). All in all a disaster and I wouldn't recommend it - you can spend your money on much nicer places for service, ambience and food. We did complain and the manager (who wasn't actually the restaurant manager as there was none on shift) did discount our food a bit etc.

If you are looking for a venue that combines excellent food, fantastic location and fairly reasonable prices, Fakhreldine hits the mark.

Just down from The Ritz, this first floor restaurant overlooks Piccadilly and Green Park so if you request a table by the window, you can relax and watch the world go by as you take you time over your dining experience.

Fakhreldine is apparently the oldest and one of the best-loved Lebanese Restaurants in London so our expectations were somewhat high before we arrived, but we were not disappointed. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly without being intrusive and the food was nothing short of superb.

Keen to taste a variety of traditional Lebanese dishes, we opted for the mixed mezzes, 8 fresh, fragrant dishes to share which included stuffed vine leaves, pumpkin and chick pea parcels, tabouli, falafel, baba ghanoush and homemade Lebanese lamb sausages with cumin.

For main course we went for their recommendation for a mixed grill; charcoal-grilled skewers of chicken, lamb cubes and minced lamb on a bed of saffron rice and a homemade chilli flat bread. The meat was surprisingly succulent with a lovely balance of middle eastern spices.

Dessert came as a cleansing platter of fresh fruit, followed by a pot of homemade mint tea and baklava.

In keeping with Lebanese custom, we were plied with more than enough food for a mid-week lunch and if I had one complaint it was solely that I felt guilty for not being able to eat everything I was served. However despite hard times for the restaurant industry, it’s great to learn that tradition still outweighs profits for Fakhreldine.

It was my boyfriend birthday, and a friend recommended Fakhreldine restaurant. It was the best choice! The modern design and traditional middle-eastern elements with panoramic views of Green Park create a contented and romantic atmosphere for us. The food was amazing and the service was excellent friendly, the also put a candle in small cake especially made it for us and stopped the music and everyone from the restaurant started to sing happy Birthday to my boyfriend. We had a perfect night and I would recommend to everyone who wants to celebrate their Birthday Parties!

I was DISGUSTED with my ENTIRE experience at Fakhreldine. From the food and service to the decor and cost, everything was beneath poor quality; I cannot believe we actually paid for what can only be described as an awful evening. Believe me, I am generally quite a laid-back and easy-going person and happily overlook mishaps but on this occasion everything was wrong. Being deemed a "top" eatery in one of the plushest areas of London I did not brace myself for what lay ahead. Unhelpful, rude, disorganised and very unclean.

All would have been forgiven had the food been worthwhile, I felt like crying when I saw my meal it was horrible, literally a boiled chicken with potatoes floating around it, the rest of my family had no feast either, our plates were pretty much left looking as they had arrived. Furthermore two meals had a hair in them and three were undercooked. It took ages to request for the bill and when it arrived, they had the audacity to add service charge to it (which is optional) but after the evening we had, one would have imagined they would have given the meal for free from the embarrassment of it all clearly this must be regular practice for they did not seem to feel bad about it.

They also charged us extra for drinks that we had not ordered. It took them a further twenty minutes to process the bill, their card machines were broken.Everyone please save your time, money and energy, at the end of the day if a food specialist cannot give you good food then what is the point? Expensive prices and places don’t always mean quality content. As a family of sixteen we have a varying range of tastes. We also love eating out and can do so up three or four times a week. Fakhreldine has by far been our worst experience in dining out. There is not enough space to give a complete review of the awful mishaps.

A very bad experience! Booked a table for 9ppl for a birthday. I asked for a window seat, they put us in the in the middle. There were 6 plate settings so they had to squeeze the rest of us on the same table. Most of us didn’t have cutlery. Before we had a chance to look at the menu, the manager bought a trey of drinks over and got angry with us for drinking them as the order was for another table! Then when we did order our drinks, they bought over extra drinks that we didn’t order again! Out of the 2 Mint Lemonades,1 didn’t have sugar in. The waitress told us they didn’t have most of the things we wanted off the menu.

We got 1 starter,it took about 20 minutes for the others to arrive,by that time all of us had shared the 1st one between ourselves! Out of the 2 Soujouks,1 was drenched in lemon, the other was hard&over cooked. We kept askeng them to clear the tables. Yet again we were bought over main course dishes that we didn’t order. When our mains came they were on huge dishes, but taste was taste was a different matter completely. We had to send our mixed grills back-they weren’t cooked properly and cold. Got them back after everyone had finished eating and were now burnt. My Aubergines with Lamb Cubes and Crispy Bread was how can I put it nicely-3 slithers of aubergine with a bit of mince meat and completely covered in the croutons we had for our soup. The Boneless chicken had a huge bone in it and was drenched in lemon–both of the people who ordered it,left the whole thing and ate the 2 potatoes that were on their plates! The lamb in the Musakaa was undercooked and rubbery. We waited ages for the table to be cleared and bring the cake over that we had bought with us. Eventually they bought over yet another desert we hadn’t ordered! That was it! I had a word with the manager–he was so arrogant and refused to listen to a word I had to say.

I told him I was going to complain he said “are you now?”. When we got the bill, they added the extra dr

Admittedly, it's not the cheapest place, but you really do get what you pay for.

This is a special occasions restaurant, and it fits the bill perfectly. I took my fiancee there for her birthday and it was magical. The service was attentive but not servile, the room was beautiful with a lovely table overlooking Green Park and the waiters were really helpful at helping us choose our dishes and which lebanese wine we should go for (we both love our wine, but have never gone for lebanese before). It was interesting to note that he didn't pick the most expensive, just the best for our tastes.

We opted for the 'Mezze 6' - 3 courses and coffee for £28 a head, which given the amount of food was actually very good value. The wait for the food seemed just the right length, particularly between starter and mains. The starters, a selection of small dishes including tebullah, falafel, hoummous, lamb sausages and a plate of fresh crudites and iraqi bread for dipping. A perfect sharing dish to start.

Next up was the mains - 2 skewers of meat (I had lamb and chicken, she had just chicken) and rice, both cooked perfectly, moist, tender and flavoursome. It was a struggle to finish! Finally dessert arrived in the form of a massive, but refreshing fruit platter and baklava along with once of the nicest turkish coffees I've had outside of Turkey!

At the end, we presented our TasteLondon card and got 50% off all the food, making it less than £50 for two with wine.

All in all, discount or not, I highly reccommend. 2 new customers for life!

I thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of not just lebanese food, but quality food and atmosphere. Fakhreldine excels in both departments and also possesses a fantastic atmosphere that can accomadate any type of reason for socialising. The food was well prepared and brought to our table by fantastic waiters and waitressers who genuinely wanted to and were successful in helping my friends and I enjoy our night.I recommend this place to absolutely anyone who wants a good evening out and I will definately be making a trip to Fakhreldine again.Fakhreldine,I salute you.

There is a buzzy atmosphere that’s great on weekends at Fakhreldine where friendly staff serve you such specialties as chicken stuffed with green wheat or beef cooked in pomegranate sauce. The drinks are also fabulous at Fakhreldine. I love it!

Dining in Fakhreldine was always my family’s way to spend the Saturday evening out. Its sophisticated décor and tasty cuisine with wild rocket salad and chunky nuts dip keeps my family coming back to Fakhreldine time and again.

I visited Fakhreldine the day before yesterday (on a Wednesday night) and in all honesty it is the worst place I have been to in all my life.

I have never been so disgusted by the treatment me and my boyfriend recieved.

As we were in a rush we only wanted a main course, so we placed an order for two mixed grills. We had to wait for over an HOUR for the food to come. When we asked the manager, he was very rude to us and said that as we only ordered main course those that ordered the three course meal would recieve priority! What kind of crap is that! And when the food did come... He practically slammed it on the table and didn't even apologise for the late arrival for the meal.

It's only when we paid with two £50 notes that they ran around us like lost puppies... A little too late dont you think?

The food at Fakhreldine... was little more than average. But the service was actually a disgrace. Be prepared to spend a lot to recieve any kind of decent waiting.

The best place to go for middle eastern foods is Ozer. It's amazing.

I love Fakhreldine, even though for the life of me I still can't say it right - God knows what it means either. Fakhreldine has a lovely calming atmosphere and is great for groups as you can pig out together on meze. Love the chairs too!

The food at Fakhreldine is ok but they use too much lemon. Interior is very stylish. Wouldn't go back though, it's not good value for money. Try Ishbilia instead.
