We went on Saturday night and had the usual excellent food and friendly service. However, we noted that the "optional staff gratuity" of 12.5% was added to the bill. When I asked if the staff got it, I was told no, the owner keeps it to pay the wages! This is quite frankly not on. If it says staff gratuity on the menu, that is where the money should go. We opted for a cash tip.

Food was good and the prices are reasonable. Both the wine list and the menu offer plenty of choice, with vegetarian options clearly marked.

The service at Ferrari's was on the black side of dismal, not because the staff don't care - they tried very hard - but there aren't enough of them to man the number of tables. Even on a relatively quiet Monday night, the Ferrari's waiting staff were very stretched.

Ferraris isn’t a particularly upmarket place, but the food is fine. If you’re after a quick bite to eat then Ferraris is worth a look.

The food is good, tasty and value for money, but only if you are prepared to wait. I’ve been several times to Ferrari's before, but this time the service was just abominable.

We had to wait 45 minutes before we got our wine (after chasing the waiters several times) and our orders were only taken a full hour after we had arrived. We eventually had our meal, with about 20 minutes wait between courses.

The maitre-de’s excuse was that we all arrived at the same time. This is excuse didn’t suffice as the restaurant wasn’t even at full capacity. I want to know is how they manage on a truly busy night.
