An absolute gem of a place! Smart but relaxed, cozy and unpretentious. The food is generally high quality (the tuna is to die for) and the cakes... well, treat your date to one of them and you are sure to see some action later on... Can get busy, but always friendly staff and management.
What a gem the Fig & Olive is!
We went there for our anniversary and everything was just perfect. We decided to share the starters and the mains; scallops, the crab cake, shin of pork and seabass. it was so delicious and creative. Buffet for desserts were sooo yummy.(and for £55 bill is still affordable). The wine was divine!
The waiters are highly professional: friendly, attentive, caring but not intrusive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is brilliant.
Go there and try it!
Have just been with my mum to fig and olive and was shocked by how bad the service was! We ordered a tea, a coffee and two cakes (which came to 12 quid), the cakes were brought immediately but we waited and waited... and waited... and had to ask where our drinks had got to! We got no apology when they were eventually brought. And then the sugar pot was taken away before I'd even finished pouring my tea. My mum's coffee was cold, so we think it had been sitting there and they forgot to bring it to us.
We left no tip but wish we'd complained properly, but you could tell that the staff wouldn't have cared at all. Horrible, we felt totally ripped off by this place. I've never left a review for anywhere before but I felt I had to for this one!
My girlfriend and I ate here on Valentines day and the food was delicious. For the starter we had the quiche which was very good. Then for mains the steak was perfect and the risotto was one of the best I have ever had. The service was extremely good and their desserts were amazing. The meal came to £65 with drinks.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time.
Having said that I'll probably go back next week and it will be shite.
i think yu guys should really tell the prices of your foods cause i cant find the prices of your foods
myself and two friends visited Fig & olive on easter sunday evening and i must say i was really pleased we did .
firstly the restaurant was really well lit for dinner , nothing worse than a floodlit restaurant when your feeling a bit rough from the night before !!
The food was lovely as was the waitress , two sunday lunches (highly reccomended!) one duck main ,bottle of prosscco , three liquers ,55 QUID!! BARGAIN !!
My friend and I visited Fig & Olive, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a drink, a starter which was enough to have as a main course. Our main course..mine was Monk Fish and my friend had Ribs..was just outstanding. The only mistake was that my friend got rice instead of sauteed potatoes, which was hastely rectified. With a dessert, the bill came to £46.00. How can one complain? I would definitely dine there again.
Had a dinner there last night. Excellent food, good ingredients, simply cooked in well chosen combination. Very reasonably priced. Lovely puddings and cakes. nice service and atmosphere. it is decorated very tastefull. I will definately come back. Highly Recomended
A very good restaurant indeed. Wine, decoration, service, food, just fantastic.
Very reasonably priced and they have lovely cakes and desserts. I will definitely come back. Highly recommended!
I went to Fig & Olive yesterday for tea and cakes, the cakes were OK but the staff were so rude it left a bitter taste. I would never go there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
Fig & Olive has consistently good food, though the service can be a bit patchy. The decor's fab. Fig & Olive is good for a romantic meal or treating your mum. Love it.
