Slap bang in the middle of the financial district, the Finsbury Square Farmers Market brings the taste of the country to those in suits. Taking place on a Friday, it gives the surrounding office workers the chance to browse the stalls, tasting and trying, and planning their menu for the weekend's brunch, lunch or dinner party. Not far from Moorgate and Liverpool Street tubes, many commuters stop off on their way to and from the station to peruse the goodies and take in some of the delicious smells.

Unlike most farmers markets, the Finsbury Square Farmers Market lasts until 5pm, which means that there are still locals and nearby workers nipping into get last minute purchases right up until the end of the day. The market is set on the pleasant greenery of the Square, which is surrounded by imposing buildings. The Square isn't actually within the boundaries of the City, but is deemed as being Islington. A fresh and green space, with borders of flowers, the market location is far enough from the main roads to allow you a little peace while you shop. And with ready to eat food sitting alongside the other fresh produce, there is plenty of opportunity to grab lunch or an afternoon snack on the hop, before returning to your desk to make your colleagues green with organic, freshly picked envy.
